I keep forgetting to ask about the new Guardian tag on AO3. Now that it says 镇魂 | Guardian (TV 2018) instead of 镇魂 | Guardian (TV) is anyone else changing the tag on their earlier fic? I know it doesn't do anything on the user side, but I'm annoyed by the fact that when I go to Edit Works, Deconstruction shows in a different box. Perhaps this is this a me problem.

Speaking of me problems, I'm currently making my way through Deconstruction revisions and have hit A Major Emotional Point which I am having to completely rewrite/restructure because of 2nd beta's excellent points. It took me most of yesterday to figure out how to work it so I have the mechanics down but ugh now I gotta actually write it and... it's not really a scene I feel like writing when I myself am teetering on the edge of emotional collapse. I suppose it gives great ~verisimilitude~ but jesus.

I avoided writing for a while by recreating my Angst playlist on Spotify. Most of it, anyway. I put it off for a while because I didn't want to deal with copypastaing the Kpop names. I got most of them, but I need to download the audio for this Bai Yu performance and this one by Girl's Generation. Someday I'll have the spoons to figure out how to do that (hopefully before the videos disappear) but I'm putting a request out to the universe just in case someone already has them and might be willing to share.

I haven't posted a new fic since the Guardian tag was changed, but I'll either keep tagging all my fic with the old tag, or shift all the old fic to the new tag. I'm much too obsessive about this kind of thing to have fic for the same fandom under different tags! *g*

Good to know it's not just me! If I'd known it was an option to use the old tag, I'd have done that. I just chose the first one that popped up in the suggestions (like usual) bc I'd forgotten about the tag change. Hm.

Maybe I'll change Deconstruction to the old one? Would that be easier? better? ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ok I'm just using this as an excuse to not get back to Deconstruction so this is me getting back to revisions. 😩

The thing is that the old tag won't come up in the dropdown, so you'd have to put it in manually. It's a pain, but so is editing all the old fic. Gah!

I don't like the new tag—it looks weird with the year added. (Not to mention it's unnecessary, there isn't another show with the same combination of English + Chinese name afaik.) I haven't posted fic since the change happened but I plan to use the old tag when I eventually do. I definitely won't be editing my old fics.

I actually got super annoyed that the TV and novel fandoms weren't synned because then I couldn't see both whenever I selected a certain fandom on my dashboard (AND also Guardian didn't show up in my top #ed creation fandoms, INCORRECTLY), so I made a series where I stuck in all my Guardian fic. So it doesn't bother me as much, I'm too lazy to back and change all the TV tags to the new canonical. I am tagging new fic with the new canonical, since that's what shows up on the dropdown. (That being said I get why it /would/ bother you.)

oooolol, i love how the guardian fandom has to make absolutely scientifically sure that this is z1l blowing a kiss at bai yu. :D (It totally is. I need no proof. My rpf slasher glasses are working fine.)

Chen Yiming is so soft and i love their emotional closeness. (Still think the show is going to ruin it all soon, but until then... so soft!)




I noticed the Guardian fandom tag changing, but didn't think much of it. It still shows the old tag for fic written before September, but all fic still shows up in the same tag, on the dashboard as well as the search, so I don't actually mind?

I am so sorry that rewriting Deconstruction is such a struggle. <3 <3 <3

Chen Yiming is... well he's just Very Good Looking. Luo Fusheng has been my standard Peak Zhu Yilong, but I like the way Zhu Yilong's face is maturing very much.
