Yesterday was a parade of frustration.
I can't believe Menards totally failed me in the light bulb arena. None of the replacement bulbs I bought (with help! I asked!) worked in the fixtures when I got home, and the guy helping me find a replacement for the halogen in the kitchen (one got broken before I moved in) broke the working bulb trying to remove it from the fixture. I returned the ones that didn't work and went to a different, locally owned hardware store. They didn't have the ones I needed in stock, but could at least order one. The other one (which works in two different hanging lamps--I tested it at home!) is apparently out of stock everywhere. When I finally got the new halogen bulb in the kitchen fixture and re-hooked it into the track lighting it didn't come on. *deep sigh*
My landlord M has a handyman on retainer and I'm gonna ask if he'll at least figure out what I did wrong on the kitchen light. I hope I won't have to replace those. The hanging lamp (which I spent so much time finding the bulb for) is gonna have to sit on the floor for a while. Which I hate. I hate how it looks like that, it's designed to hang, damn it, but there's no stud on the small stretch of wall where I need to hang it. I'm probably gonna wind up using mollies but that's another trip to the hardware store which isn't gonna happen until I have to go back out again for something necessary. It's getting too risky with US numbers rising so horrifically.
While I was at the second hardware store (the locally owned one) I couldn't stop staring at the arms and hands of the guy helping me. They were... very nice. And very bare below his tee shirt sleeves. My heart rate actually picked up and I had to control my breathing behind my mask. It was so bad, y'all, I am such. a. mess. πππ π¬π And thanks to a discussion this morning, I've shared more about my sex life on Twitter in the last 24 hours than I have on pretty much any public internet space, ever. I've apparently reached that stage of isolation.

Good luck! As I just said to Manka about hers, I hope you and yours become excellent friends.
(A thing about myself that would shock the hell out of younger!me is that being someplace in the demi-/asexual spectrum, with a very low libido to boot, in no way precludes finding sex toys and reviews of them fascinating. So I've wound up with Opinions on the subject and am weirdly enthused about everyone who wants toys having good ones.)

*fingers crossed* I do hear pretty consistently great things about that brand, so I hope you two are dear friends for years to come. ^_-

(The little cuteness fanart drawings are so adorable. The Zhubai megaphone one!)

EXCELLENT POINT.

Sorry about the bulbs; WHY SO HARD.
I hit the link for the locally owned hardware store, and how did I never know it existed? They seem awesome. Do they sharpen knives?

Such a shame you weren't aware of Cottin's. They're great! I should ask about the knife sharpening. That would be a great option since my guy in North Lawrence didn't do a good job twice in a row. And I still haven't gotten the hang of my whetstone to satisfaction.

I used to live in North Lawrence BTW... off Lyon.

But I'm sorry about the frustration parade!
