Have a minute and twenty-eight seconds of Shen Wei in chains.
Fanart: So young looking! (so young!) Actual Baby Shen Wei. Oh my god this take on the alien trope y'all. Knives and Beauty. That suit tho.

Briefly recreating some of what I lost in yesterday's post...

[personal profile] writedragon's advice on changing my state is helping. It gives me a reason to do PT exercises twice a day, too. I'd still describe my general mood as Pretty Goddamn Miserable but at least I'm just standing on the edge of the Hell Spiral instead of spinning down the middle.

I'm waiting on beta's thoughts about my revisions to The Second First Time (the Deconstruction missing scene), I've sent off my Deconstruction sequel notes to a trusted sounding board, and I'm getting ready to send 3.5k words of the Hellbent prequel with notes to [personal profile] glymr later today. So that all feels pretty good!

Since I don't have anything fic-related to work on at the moment, I'm gonna tackle some of my correspondence backlog. I owe so many cards! Fortunately I am well-stocked for stationery and postage.

Gotta call my bank, too, to see if there's any way to set up a regular transfer of funds to someone at a different bank (this is how my landlord prefers to receive rent payments). I know it should be possible, but my bank is very small--just a three-state regional bank, which is one of the reasons I like it. But it means a lot of standard amenities available at larger ones... well, aren't. I think Paypal starts taking a cut after a certain amount so that's not a long-term option. If anyone has alternate ideas, I'm all ears. ETA: after spending 30 minutes on the phone with my bank we might? have figured out how to do it? IDK, I sent $10 as a test but it says "expect delivery by December 14" so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If they speak the magic acronym "ACH" you may be golden; that's the system most (all?) banks and many credit unions use to shift funds about. It's electronic and essentially overnight if not immediate.

I've seen some limitations, but mostly in edge cases.

If the bank offers any form of "online bill payment", that often can be configured to manage "non-business" payments (meaning payments to third parties). Both my wife and I "fund" our grad student via different institutions (one ACH and one "pay this person").

Good Luck!

Really glad writing is happening for you! (If you feel like you want to write something and have nothing to work on, feel free to doodle with the baseball!AU? although that might feel weird until it's in season again...). Sequels and prequels can be reassuring (?) to write, hanging out in a world you already know...

Hey, congrats on setting things up with your bank! That's...a lot of work for something you'd think they could do quite easily, but why should things be easy, right? Fingers crossed for delivery!

"It's...Shen Wei in chains." YES, this person should be encouraged. ENCOURAGED I SAY.
