Vid rec! Home, by TrickyTricky. It's not new (was for Escapade) but I finally got around to watching it and oh, oh, oh. 🧡

The Liches & Lye trope-themed scented candle sampler finally arrived and I am... unimpressed? The scents themselves aren't really to my taste, which okay, different strokes, etc. etc., but they're hardly scented at all? Maybe I got spoiled with Gold Canyon candles (RIP *SOB*) but, well. Not impressed. After letting one burn for two hours I actually walked around outside for a few minutes to let my nose re-adjust, see if I'd just acclimated to the scent. But when I came back in...eh. I mean, I could tell there was a candle burning somewhere in the house, but it was pretty faint. After two hours of burning! Has anyone else purchased from this company and had a better experience?

In happier fandom-related things, someone is reading Deconstruction for the first time, leaving a comment every few chapters and I'm all 😍🧡😊

I've spent today piddling around in the kitchen--food prep, cleaning, scrubbing out the teapot (ugh), but after the most recent comment came through a few minutes ago I'm itching to sit down and start writing. Maybe lunch first (it's 2pm and all I've had is a piece of toasted banana bread), and then I'll see if I can get more words down on Redemption! I can't believe I'm nearly at 8k words after struggling so much for so long to get anything out.

ETA: A long time ago, someone mentioned Shen Wei singing for the first time when Zhao Yunlan could hear him and Zhao Yunlan being entranced. Who was this? I had a link to the DW comment in my story notes but it seems to have disappeared, which is heartbreaking because there were some lovely details in it that I no longer remember.

I was also a bit underwhelmed with my L&L candles, once they finally arrived. I went with Mutual Pining and Reincarnation, and I'm not sure I'm getting any of the notes on the label? I haven't tried burning them yet, we'll see how that goes.

That sucks about the L&L candles. Hmph. I guess good to know it's not just me, but what a bummer. I finally have the freedom to burn smelly candles anytime I want and my smelly candles aren't very smelly! 😩

Haha, maybe I've actually seen them and just didn't notice the blush. I feel my whole TL was nothing else that day, it was beautiful. HE IS BEAUTIFUL.

I lit the Reincarnation one next to my desk and I can definitely smell something, but it's not as pleasant as one would hope. 😅 It mostly smells like candle? Left the room too, but really it's mostly a candle smell. Huh. Ah well, now we know!

I lit Fake Dating (after going through Angst and Enemies to Lovers) to much the same result. These are very expensive candle-scented candles. 😂

eta: after three hours of burn time, I get an occasional whiff of Fake Dating while sitting about two and a half feet from it.
