Sunday Snippet, et. al.
Zhu Hong's many looks.
The 1921 meltdowns are already starting.
This shot from The Rebel is making me feel things.
Friday night I took this selfie. It was an attempt at using the back camera (better camera than the front-facing one) to see if it played better with the lighting in my living room (which is lovely in person but absolute crap for photos). It did not, in fact, play better with the lighting but I love what I got when I couldn't see the screen. The blurriness really works, as does the off-balance composition. This might be one of my top fave selfies and, like most of my top fave selfies, I got it on the first attempt.

Yesterday was largely a rest day, although I ran one errand because I forgot to buy glass (microwaveable) containers for my lunches. There is a nice clean fridge for the office staff so I don't have to buy an insulated lunch bag at least.
Writing has slowed a bit, but I did get some words down this week.
Snippet:
An Bai headed back toward the legislative wing at a jog, occasionally waving back at smiling people who seemed familiar with the sight of him running through the hallways. Zhao Yunlan got a few curious looks that seemed to focus on his clothes. The vast majority of Dixingren were dressed in the layered fusion of modern and ancient styles, some more colorful and adorned than others. The few dressed in what Zhao Yunlan considered normal clothing wore sharp suits that reminded him of Shen Wei.
Before he could feel too uncomfortable at being under-dressed, a woman brushed past him, calling a greeting to someone in the crowd. Zhao Yunlan’s eyes widened at her gray vest and trousers with white oxford shirt and sleeve garters. Surely not. He was tempted to follow her into the judicial branch, but what would he say? “Hey, are you intentionally dressed like my husband?” No.
He directed his feet toward the educational wing. He’d promised Shen Wei photos, after all

Uh-oh, I say about The Rebel shots.
I think I missed what fic WIP these snippets are from, but this is delightful.

And thank you! I'm happy you like the snippet. It's from The Price of Redemption, the sequel to The Deconstruction of Hei Pao Shi. We got to see Shen Wei's journey and now it's Zhao Yunlan's turn. Poor guy (the snippets haven't all been this cute π).

Could go either way! (Visualization isn't my strength as a reader or writer, so I'm probably not the right person to ask, really. ^^;)

There would be so many better dressed people if that were the case... if only!
Lighting selfies is hard. Yours looks lovely though!

Thank you! I just wish the lighting was good enough that the camera would actually focus.
