I got my nose re-pierced on New Year's Eve, too. Got pierced by Angel at Rings of Desire. It looks really good. So far no complications. I had her do it through the scar tissue of the old piercing and I've had fewer problems than I did with the original. Hurray!

I've been wanting to pierce my nose for ages, but I had nothing but trouble with my other "exotic" piercings (those not through the lobes of my ears) and so I have been wary about piercing my face where there might be a disfiguring scar. I guess that's proof I'm getting old...

I've been thinking about piercing something (other than ears) for a long time. Will get my navel done eventually, but nose was on my list, only cuz *most* chicks I've seen with eyebrows (with a very few exceptions) look a little too harsh for my taste. Am trying to convince boss to let me sneak it in at work while I don't have to present in front of anyone, so it's healed by the time I do and can just take it out that day.

I don't care for eyebrow rings on anyone. Or lips. Labrets look good on some people, as do the upper lip one (don't know the correct term--but the one that looks like Cindy Crawford's mole).

I think in my ramblies about piercings I neglected to clarify that the one getting the most serious thought from me at present is in fact my nose. Not sure I'm a labret kind of girl, and I can't afford to learn how to talk around my tongue if I'm going into voice work professionally. Plus... ow ow ow ow ow! I have a high pain threshold but still. Damn.

Of all my piercings, my nose has been my fave. I re-pierced it after the first one grew through OVER NIGHT. (Long story...grrrrr.) I had the lady pierce the other side, though...I was NOT going to do it through the old scar tissue. I did that with my tongue, and the second time actually hurt; I don't remember the first time (with my tongue) hurting really that bad. The UNCOMFORTABLE part was the healing process with that one. Anysnooch, I wanted to say *Cartman voice* "Schweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet." and you make me want to go for another...I have been toying with the idea of a Marylin/Marilyn (dear fucking Christ...I can't spell tonight), but even though I do my job now with multiple ear piercings and my nose and tongue, something tells me that I couldn't get the other to fly with the majority of my clients. (Boo.) I hope this post finds you well and wonderfully happy. I am still holding out hope that one day soon, my dear, you and I can actually find some time to get together and chat. :0)

When I took mine out (had to get a Real Job in KC many years ago), it only took about 48 hours to completely heal over.

How spiffy. I hope that it works out this time around. Will you be able to at some point take it out without the possibility of overgrowth?

The reason I ask is I really would prefer to not have facial piercings on any of my women (I don't care about tongues, as they are not so terribly obvious)...mostly as I think it has costume ties to gypsy charaterizations within the RenFest idiom.
