Wishlist request if anyone's in a position (and mood) to spend a bit of money: I need an activity that doesn't involved a computer screen so if you'd like to purchase this jigsaw puzzle for me, please lmk. Thank you, oracne for the recommendation for that manufacturer. This one's cute too but I feel like I should probably start with a 500-piece project since I haven't put together a puzzle since junior high (even tho that design is gonna be a bit of a challenge).
Used this @coolguyyibo tweet as a response on a Tumblr post so of course I had to re-read parts of that amazing livetweet thread and this one in particular caught me. I always understood it as an attempt by the production team to say "see? they're totally not together, what are you talking about? ha ha!" but looking at his wording (and I understand there might be a translation issue here) he says he stayed single for "over 20 years." Since drama!Zhao Yunlan is canonically at least 28 now I'm reading it as he's no longer single but the person he's with will totally understand why he does what he does by injecting himself with the serum. Also it's occurring to me as I'm typing this (🔪alert) this is basically his first attempt to join Shen Wei in death.
I wrote nearly 1k words on Redemption yesterday, I finally have a specific, long-term direction/goal for Zhao Yunlan, and I feel like I can say with confidence that I'm now at least halfway through this beast at 56k words. \o/

The only art I have been capable of creating recently is a large mixed-media spray-paint-ish looking piece with "Fuck the Patriarchy" scrawled across it, accented by a small glitter heart in the corner -- because rage layered with irony feels like the proper response to *waves hands* everything lately.

The lovely thing about puzzles is that they can just sit and sit and sit and you can pick at them as energy allows (says me, who has had a puzzle in progress on the table for weeks).
