Because I so do not feel like working today
1. If you could have anything you wanted to eat for a day, what would you choose for your meals and snacks?
Breakfast: Pecan Pancakes like Paradise Cafe used to make, sausage patties, and some good strong coffee.
Lunch: My gramma's pan-fried chicken, mashed potatoes and white gravy, green beans, and corn.
Dinner: A gorgeously prepared steak dinner from somewhere who knows how to cook steak, with a nice salad.
Before bed snack: A bag of Dolly Madison Powdered Sugar Gem Donuts (oh come on, you knew that was coming eventually).
2. Is there ever a dish/food or dessert you wanted to try but never had the opportunity, what is it?
I've yet to have real Bananas Foster, but it's not like I'm dying to try it.
3. What's a dish/food or dessert you've tried that you wish you hadn't?
Can't think of anything.
4. Ever watch cooking shows? (i.e. "Great Chefs," "Epicurious," etc.)
Oh, yes. Alton Brown, I love you.
5. Are you hungry yet?
Getting there.
1. How often do you get tangled in lj-fights?
I don't.
2. How often does an lj someone make a generally unprovoked for snipe at you?
Dunno that's ever happened that I've noticed.
3. Do you belong to any communities with a high drama factor?
I was in
4. What's your theory on why there is so much raw rage on the 'net?
People tend to forget they're dealing with real human beings and not just screen names. It's impossible to read body language or hear humor in a voice. In general, I think people are pissier nowadays--look at road rage problems. It's too bad.
5. Are these high drama interactions a source of amusement or a nuisance?
If that's amusement, I'll find my chuckles elsewhere, thanks.
1. Describe the last time you were frightened:
Last week. I was frightened that I was losing a huge part of my life.
2. What does your hair look like?
This.
3. Have you ever dyed your hair a new color?
Nope.
4. Do you like heights?
Yes. I don't get vertigo. Motion-sick yes, but nothing to do with actual heights.
5. Girl Scout cookies, candy bar sales -- what's the worst fund raising you've had to do?
I never minded doing that stuff when I was a kid. And it wasn't as prevalent as it is today since, you know, schools actually got government and public financial support so we didn't have to do as much of it. People were more willing to buy stuff once or twice a year. Now it's like every other week kids are selling something else. I feel for them.

With the recent cable upgrade (of which we weren't victims of large outages) we now have the Food Channel On Demand. They make the shows they've aired recently available to watch anytime you want. I watched a couple of Good Eats last night. I had to watch the chocolate one, of course ;)
