Disappointed but I suppose not surprised
Heyyyyyyyy for those not on Twitter, thought you should know one of Dremwidth's founders is against EndOTWRacism and is also spreading misinformation about people like Stitch and Rukmini Pande who've been doing work on fighting racism in fandom for a decade or more.
So that's fun.

naye's excellent rebuttal. If you feel like this isn't your battle, you're wrong (neutrality supports the oppressor). If you like things fine the way they are, where non-white fans are constantly having to deal with this violence, and fear rocking the boat or making people (including yourself) comfortable, please examine your priorities.
So that's fun.

there are very few fandom scholars/activists who write about racism; both stitch and dr. pande have been quoted in pretty much any discussion of fandom racism bc no other scholars have done as much work on the subject - they are the experts. INTERESTINGLY, both of them have experienced harassment, abuse, and been on the receiving end of excessive victimhood performances by racists in fandom and all the accompanying toxic rumors. that's a common tactic of white supremacy; it doesn't make the malicious gossip about them true. rahaeli/synecdochic is spouting the very same hateful shit that's been circulating about stitch on FFA for years, which should be concerning to any of us using DW. and btw, dumping on an antiracist movement bc it quotes the work of one black person she doesn't like? that's racism 101.

Backing away carefully instead of calling out a white person for their lack of support for an anti-racism movement (based on their dislike of a person who had no hand in forming the movement) is a cop out.
