Good times
Looks like my laptop's going to be in the shop for a week AT LEAST.
Sooooo I'm gonna be focusing on Extreme Rest with occasional forays into my studio. I'm playing with a sculptural project that may or may not come to anything, but the learning process is always fun. Also checking out some books on writing from my library. If anyone has suggestions, hit me up. Right now I've got Story Genius and A Dash of Style. Preparing to revisit Mary Greer's Tarot for Yourself to see if I get more out of it this time.
Haven't seen anything in the news about a new COVID variant that's highly transmissible, even outdoors. I suspect the lack of news is due to the whole "COVID is over" thing that our governments are highly invested in maintaining. I'll be going back to wearing a mask when socializing outdoors and eliminating all indoor social interactions, even with people who are masked and vaxxed. Looks like another long, lonely winter of isolation coming up for me, made all the worse by Twitter's impending collapse and Tumblr's slow but inevitable demise.
Saw this tweet on Tumblr today (love the cross-contamination) and sharing it everywhere in the hopes of bringing that energy home.

My favorite writing book is Jeff VanderMeer's Wonderbook: The Illustrated Guide to Creativing Imaginative Fiction (there's a new revised version but the original is also stellar). Weirdly, I couldn't get into Bird by Bird, but Stephen King's On Writing is a lot of fun.

Here's to a good Extreme Rest! I'm very intrigued by your sculptural project and hope you have fun with that.
Seconding the recommendation for Stephen King's On Writing. It's something I've been meaning to reread for some time now, so thank you for the reminder!
I love that tweet. <3333
