Spring Break Friday

...and Payday. Lovely! I wish the majority of it wasn't already spent on phy$ical therapy costs.

Thanks to all who came out to Aladdin's last night: [livejournal.com profile] gmskarka, [livejournal.com profile] the_themiscyran, [livejournal.com profile] thedarkbear, [livejournal.com profile] flutterfae, [livejournal.com profile] cedarsong, [livejournal.com profile] everflame, and [livejournal.com profile] radcliffe, briefly. Sorry you weren't feeling well, hon. I hope I'm not forgetting anyone. So glad [livejournal.com profile] roya_spirit did make it out to dance. We need to dance together more. Oh, and I need to register for that workshop today before the early registration price ends(note to self).

I think I'm going to be getting rid of some clothes this spring. Many of the capri pants and skirts I made for the last two years are going to be too big for me now. If anyone on my friends list thinks they might be of the right size, let me know (30 to 32 waist, 40 to 42 hip). Free to good home. I can't really take them to a thrift store b/c they're all handmade and that type of thing just doesn't sell at thrift stores. If nobody wants them, they're off to [livejournal.com profile] verminiusrex for diaper patterns.

Finally got my Kansas taxes finished and in the mail. I hope I did them right. If I didn't, I guess they'll tell me, eh? I admit to being a little nervous because it turned out that the state owed me $32 and I never get money back from the state. But I've heard a lot of people saying that this year. I'm crossing my fingers that I don't get a nasty-gram from Topeka in a couple weeks.

1. What kind of toothpaste do you use? Colgate Whitening, but I'm intrigued by the new Crest flavors.
2. Do you take vitamins? Many. Many vitamins.
3. Which over-the-counter drug can't you live without? Pseudoephedrine.
4. What kind of soap do you have in your shower? Dove.
5. What is the most unusual item in your medicine cabinet? Probably my thyroid medication--Levoxyl.

Can't do today's [livejournal.com profile] thefridayfive. I don't have a favorite movie.

UPDATE: Idling the day away as I wait for more information so I can actually do some work.

You scored as A Tramp. You've done it all. And twice. You make a good imitation lady but know when to take off your high heeled boots and club a man in the eye. You make an awful lot of money, but somehow it all vanishes down your gullet or up your dress.

Sorry we didn't get to stay later, believe me I wanted to. When had made arrangements a few weeks back to go out with a few friends last night. I did enjoy your dancing though, it was amazing.

Thanks! I'm glad you saw even a little bit and very happy that you had a good time. The sword floorwork was actually one of my worst, so not bad that you missed it. Damn sword was not balancing well last night.

Next time I want to stay longer as well. You were fantastic! I really need to take classes again! Watching you made me realize how much I miss it.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-03-25 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Wonderful! Not that you miss it, but glad I could inspire you to start classes again! The new session starts next week!! LOL!

[identity profile] the-themiscyran.livejournal.com 2005-03-25 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Are those classes through Parks & Rec? Where can I find info? It's been awhile.

I also wanted to ask you, I noticed quite a variety between your costume and some of the other women who were dancing. Is that personal preference, or is that a style difference between American Tribal and Cabaret or something?

Thanks!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-03-25 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup. Parks and Rec (http://parks-recreation.ci.lawrence.ks.us/recreationinstruction.shtml). There's also a couple other girls who teach locally at ECM, but I'm not sure if they've started their classes again after a hiatus.

The costume difference is just personal preference. I don't have the money to buy a cabaret costume, and I'm more interested in sewing the ethnic/tribal style stuff. I do plan to begin work on a cabaret costume for the summer, show, though. I dress and dance what some people call "tribaret." =) It's not that I necessarily prefer one over the other...I'm just cheap.

Yes, Parks and Rec! Woohooo! I felt pretty bad about having to drop the last few classes of the beginning level I was taking for the second time. But, the instructor was there last night and said I could go on to Intermediate! Woot! I am so there! So, um yeah, highly recommended classes.

I think the tribal look really suits you, CR, and it makes your clothes stand out among the others as well. Hot hot! I am really sorry I didn't get to see you dance last night, especially as I felt much better after food myself.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-03-25 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Congrats on getting the shoulder tap to Intermediate! Go, you!

[identity profile] redheadfae.livejournal.com 2005-03-25 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, more together dancing and more interaction between us!
I meant to get up when you got your sword, but the knee was already getting wonky, so I had to stay down.

Bummer. Oh well! I think people were impressed with the bedouin walk. =D

I hope all was well in the un-dog-sat house.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-03-25 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup. Came back to a home that was pretty much as I left it. =)

Clothes?

[identity profile] hurricanedeck.livejournal.com 2005-03-25 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
About what size would those clothes translate to?

Re: Clothes?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-03-25 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, geez. I have no idea. I so rarely buy anything except tee shirts and sweaters that I'm in the dark about women's clothing sizes. The best I could do is get accurate measurements on the clothes and then ask you to measure yourself...

Andrea is interested in the clothes

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-03-28 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, Andrea is way too slim for my old clothes. =(

[identity profile] adammaker.livejournal.com 2005-03-28 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
wow.

Did you see the pic contest at Molly's?

I am interested in looking at the clothes, if you're still feeling charitable. I would bet they'd fit me now, and replace some of the pieces now set aside in my own wardrobe.
