Music Meme

1. Total number of records I own on CD (or vinyl or cassette):
  • I probably have about 100 or so CDs. I'm not sure how many I lost when [livejournal.com profile] 0verdrive and I split up. But probably have around 100.
  • Vinyl: Just gave all my records (mostly old Jazz--some on 78s--and Broadway musical soundtracks) to a friend of mine.
  • Cassettes: One copy of Lydia's Basement by the Switch, a local band who used to practice in (yes) my basement. They were really good.

  • 2. Total volume of music files on my computer: None.
    3. The last record I bought: That Kind of Lonely and Hillbilly Heights by Roger Wallace. Still replacing CDs I gave up in the split.
    4. The last record listened to / song playing now: "Ganga Dev" from D.J. Cheb's Shri Durga album, driving home from an errand on Sunday.
    5. Five records that I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me (either singles or albums):
  • Soundtrack to Chess, original London cast
  • Copper Blue, Sugar
  • Reverb Deluxe, The Derailers
  • Rhythm, Rhyme, and Truth, Deke Dickerson
  • Dralion soundtrack, Cirque du Soleil

  • 6. Finally, tag five people to do this meme: Anyone who wants to jump in

Feel for you on the split thing. I lost all my vinyl and most my cds in my split and that was some good music: complete Tangerine Dream, Little River Band, Beatles complete. Haven't managed to replace everything (and a little afraid to try.)

    Half.com (http://www.half.com) is a wonderful thing.

I lost my entire vinyl record collection in a flood some years ago, including some irreplacable stuff. That hurt.

    Hey,
Thought I would ask you this question since you seem to know lots of belly dancing people =)

What teachers do you recommend in Kansas City? Price is pretty important to me since I'll still be a student there..

    Thanks a bunch,
    Rayana

The only person I know who's teaching in KC is Siham Ali (http://www.sihamali.com/). [livejournal.com profile] roya_spirit might be a better source for teacher info.
