The ridiculous
I didn't want to sully the earlier post with trivial crap. It's not often that I turn introspective and I thought it deserved its own post. So, a couple little things:
1.) How does one make an MP3 from a song on a CD? Is there freeware I can download someplace?
2.) When and why did Gmail change the way it formats replies? Yesterday my replies were formatted the way I like, with sideways carrots preceeding the text being replied to. Like this:

My response

This morning, not so. Now I have these annoying lines, like you get in MS word Track Changes Format, that run perpendicular to the text. I don't like it. Not at all. How do I change it back?
3.) I have to go to Target, World Market, Tuesday Morning, and Hobby Lobby today right after work. Bah. I'm tired of spending money. At this point, retail therapy is helping me just about as much as a punch in the head.

But...
Windows Media Player v10 (downloadable for free if you don't have it) will give you the option to "rip" songs from CD to mp3 format. Just push the "rip" button, and it does it all by itself

Not sure about 2. I use GMail with SMTP/POP3 and don't have a problem.
3: Sounds like you could use a _________ (insert relaxing activity here).

3: Yeah, I could use a ______ for damn sure.

If I'm understanding you properly, I think your solution may be under the "Settings" at the top right corner (on my screen that's where they are) and then under the caption "general".
Hope that helps!

- iTunes (http://www.apple.com/itunes/)
- CDEX (http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/"")
iTunes is magnificent, but if you want an MP3, make sure to change it to Edit->Preferences->Importing to MP3, as the default is AAC. Other than that iTunes works very intuitively.no subject
In Gmail , after you click "reply" there should be the textarea box which contains the other person message and where you type your reply into. Above that box are all the rich text formatting options (bold, underline, center, etc) and to the right of that should be a link "Plain text". Clicking that link will put the carrots back for you.
But, I don't seem to see a option to always use plain text in replies.
Hope this helps.

Why oh why do people decided it's a helpful thing to change a user's default preferences?
Totally off the subject...
