Dreams and a three-ring circus

I so rarely remember my dreams. Last night I had a short one, but it was a good one.

We were getting ready to head up to front gate on opening day of Faire. [livejournal.com profile] cedarsong looked at me funny and I asked her what was wrong. She asked why I didn't have any makeup on and I realized I'd made it out to site without putting on my face. I distinctly remember thinking "The Madam is going to kill me."

It was the Ren Fest Whore equivalent of showing-up-for-the-first-day-of-school-naked dream.

Very, very funny.

Yesterday afternoon continued the Circus Act that is My Life. I got to the lab a wee bit late. I decided to say Fuck It and shelled out the $15 to get my eyebrows waxed. Dammit, I deserved it and they do look fantastic, thank you very much. Anyway, so I got to the lab about 15 minutes later than I wanted. No lab request. Great. Ran over to the doctor's office (fortunately just across the street) to get another copy. Waited for that. Went back over to the lab and was met with wide eyes and flumoxxed staff. In the half-hour it took to get my lab request back, they'd been bombarded with check-ins. It was a thirty minute wait just to get checked in! Possibly an hour before I would get admitted to the back to get my blood drawn. "Five years I've been here and I've never seen anything like this," said the woman at the window.

I went home and took a nap.

I'll go back today to see if there's less of a wait. Hope so.

Working with [livejournal.com profile] grnvixen and [livejournal.com profile] nottygypsy to get Notty's bodice mock-up last night, I was reminded of something I've always believed: The Numbers DO Lie. I would never have figured out how to finagle Notty's bodice measurements without your help, [livejournal.com profile] grnvixen. Thanks a million. Hope you like the chocolate. Let me know if you want to try the other flavors.

After I got back into town, I helped [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick attempt removal of the non-functional parking brake on the Mustang. My wee frame can wedge itself into small spaces (like sliding between the seat and steering wheel and getting under the dashboard) much better than his. So hurray, I actually did work on my car. And yes, my hands got dirty. I felt so Butch.
