Getting to know you.
1.) 3 events from your life that have made you who you are, and how you think they changed you.
Moving to Kansas when I was 11 taught me that you don't always get back what you put in. At my school in Indiana, I'd always been the person who sat with the new kid at lunch and helped him/her meet people. When I moved to Kansas, nobody wanted to be my friend and I was ignored for nearly my entire 6th grade year. This was my first lesson in "Life Sucks. Deal."
The summer before 7th grade, my mom put me in charge of the house: Cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. I took a lot of pride in running the house. I still do.
Getting to know
rougewench and realizing that I want to live life on her terms: Compassionate and fully honest with myself and others.
2.) 3 things that you would have trouble living without.
My wonderful, supportive friends.
A room of my own for my sewing and art projects.
Music.
3.) 3 things about yourself that you don't like. Would you change them?
My tendency to make snap judgements. At least I recognize this (bad) habit and I can be easily swayed to a differing view if someone presents me with a halfway decent defense of something/someone.
I would like to honestly like my body. Sometimes I don't mind it so much, but it's a constant struggle not to see myself as fat.
I wish I wasn't allergic to hair dye.
Getting to know all about you.
4.) If money were no object, what would you like to be doing with you life right now?
I'd be visiting
rorschachsix and
alt_rorschach in San Diego. I'd be self-employed, living in a lakefront cottage, and working on art/craft/costuming stuff.
5.) If you could choose two celebrities to be your parents who would they be?
I can't think of anyone famous that I'd want as a parent, unless we're talking strictly for the physical appearance DNA. In which case, I'd take Keanu Reeves and Liv Tyler--but I'd like to put in a request for better brains.
6.) If you were to design a crest that described you, what would it be?

The World.
7.) What about society as a whole gives you hope?
Absolutely nothing. There is nothing hopeful to be found in society as a whole. I am only hopeful for individuals or very small groups.
8.) What about society gives you fears?
Nearly everything.
9.) Things that you would like to see change in the city/town in which you live.
I'd like to chuck this whole no smoking in bars bullshit.
I'd love to see the city commission disallow the 31st street bypass once and for all.
I'd jump for joy if the so-called "progressive" commissioners that we voted for with such hope pulled their heads out of their asses and acted like Progressives instead of annoying do-gooders who think they know what's best for everyone.
