I'm still drowsy from lunch with adammaker, so hopefully this will wake me up a bit before I return to data entry.

Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have less than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.

I have 51 interests listed, so I chose every 5.

alternative religions: I got my BA in Religious Studies and while most of my coursework was in a fairly standard religion (Buddhism), my main interest has always been in the smaller off-shoots of religious groups. As for myself, I practice (if you can call it practice) a fairly alternative religion (if you can call it religion).

books: Ah, my refuge and respite when I was growing up. I have less time for them now, and I don't collect them, but they are an old and true love.

clive barker: Horror. Sex. Horrifying sex. He can set an atmosphere and describe worlds like nobody else. I love what this man does with words.

costuming: Making costumes for bellydance is what got me comfortable with sewing. Now I sew all my own costumes and make a lot of my own clothes. I love to play dress-up and making my own stuff is the cheapest and most rewarding way to scratch that itch.

erotica: I like it. I wish there was more good stuff out there. I enjoy erotic novels where I can get to know the characters. Short story porn is too much like video porn for me. Too quick, too perfunctory, and I don't care about the characters. I wish I had the patience to learn to write. I think I'd write good erotica. But. I have other things I'd rather do with my time.

kissing: One of my favorite hobbies. I enjoy it. I think I'm good at it.

peter gabriel: An excellent musician and artist. I think his recent stuff is not so great. But up through Us, there are few albums I enjoy more.

sarcasm: *cocks eyebrow* Please.

shoes: I have over 50 linear feet of shoes, arranged side-by-side. I'm not sure how many pairs that is. A lot. I love shoes. I have long slim feet that look good in heels. And I can walk (gracefully) in six-inch stillettos. I haven't had much practice with platforms, though.

vintage clothes: I started buying vintage clothes in 1990 when you could still find good stuff at the thrift stores. Now that I know how to sew, I wear nearly 100% reproduction stuff since the vintage stuff never fit me all that well anyway. But you really can't beat mid-century stuff for classic sexy style.
