Feeling a bit better

I was struck down with a nasty one-two punch of sinus migrane and cramps yesterday. The stupid indecisive weather with corresponding barometric rollercoaster did a number on my trouble-prone sinuses and knocked me out for most of the day. After setting stuff out on the porch for [livejournal.com profile] cedarsong and [livejournal.com profile] everflame to take out to site, I went back to bed. Got up to eat around 11:00, and laid back down for a while. That cycle repeated for most of the day. Towards evening some small, quiet, and slow-moving efforts were made towards getting shisha mirrors on the costume for ME weekend. Early to bed, and feeling better today.

Yes, I'm a wimp, but I really think it was the best decision.

From now on, I will be rigorous about washing my sinuses every day until faire season is over.

I'm glad to know you're feeling a little better. :)

Perhaps we'll do dinner sometime this week?

OK, I *thought* Thursday would work, but then remembered something going on Thursday. Let me look at my calendar and I'll get back with you.

That's cool. Just let us know.

Also, would it be possible for me to grab the non-costume style chemise pattern from you before this weekend?

Yup. I'm home all evening tonight since I've got two other people dropping by to pick stuff up this evening. Just come on by!

Sorry you felt so lousy, and glad you are doing better! Thinking you would be there on Sun., I had saved some Paige food just for you, but we will do it next weekend, or whenever! AND sorry I missed you on Saturday!! I had to go interpret a show at Union Station at 2. I'm staff interpreter there, so...
Keep feeling better!

Just wanted to toss in how much the sinus rinse really did help, so again, thank you! And it wasn't as weird as I'd been anticipating, so that was nice. Hope yours clear up soon.

Glad you are feeling a bit better. [livejournal.com profile] philrancid and I looked for you at Faire Sunday - finally found [livejournal.com profile] rougewench and asked after you. Sorry we missed you, but yeeouch, I would've stayed home, too.

Here (http://www.bytheplanet.com/Products/Yoga/neti/Netipot.htm) is some info on sinus "irrigation" as my nurse called it. Don't spend the money on one of the special pots, though. I just bought one of the bulb syringes that you use to suck the snot out of baby noses. $2 at Wal-Mart.
  • Mix up a saline solution (1/4t sea salt per 1c water), suck it up in the bulb syringe.
  • Tilt your head to one side over the bathroom sink.
  • Stick the business end of the syringe up your nose and squeeze the bulb.
  • The water should flow up your nose, through your sinuses, and out the opposite nostril.
If your nose is really stuffed up, the water won't flow out the other nostril. If you can stand it, repeat all the above steps until you get at least a little water flowing through the opposite nostril.
  • Repeat on other side.

    Fun for the whole family!
