Bite me

The bug bite on my collarbone (that I failed to mention in yesterday's Boo-Fest) has started sending a stripe down my breast. I'm off to the doctor this morning.

Boo.

UPDATE: No blood poisoning, but definitely infected. The trail was actually headed down to my lymph nodes in my armpit. I could see the trail (a very faint pink line) when he pointed it out. So I'm on a high dose of Keflex (hurray, at least I know I'm not allergic to that) for seven days (yippee). Here's to a week of screwed up bowels and, if I'm really lucky, a yeast infection. Yes, yes, going to the Merc this afternoon for some good yogurt. At least that'll help the latter.

I'm terribly allergic to most bug bites anyway, and my immune system is running pretty low right now due to little sleep, poor eating habits, and over-extending myself. So the normal (small) allergic reaction just went a little overboard and my body reacted as if it was a bad infection.

Actually, more like empathy. I woke up this morning with some kind of weird bite on my face. It's gotten redder and puffier thru the day--no red streaks yet, tho, thank heavens. But since I AM allergic to Keflex (terribly so!!), I really hope it will puff up, puff down, and go away, preferably before Saturday!

I'm generally allergic to all insect poisons (I'm one of those lucky people who is allergic to nearly everything--luckily my allergies are pretty mild) and my immune system is quite low right now. I'm sure it got me on Sunday out at RenFest. Buggies everywhere out there.
