Silver linings
Ah, there is a bright spot to these nasty-ass bites (which, by the way, itch like crazy today). Because I'm eating yogurt twice a day, I decided to spring for the good stuff. I am once again reminded of the True Bliss that is Brown Cow Cream Top Plain Yogurt. OMG. Heaven. Why do I even bother with the artifically flavored low-fat stuff? Yuck!
Another sparkly! I know I'm morbid, but I think this is about the coolest use for dead bodies ever. Laws won't let bodies decompose and feed the earth like we're supposed to, so why not find something pretty to do with a corpse? Personally, I find this fantastic. If my parents hadn't already purchased grave plots in Indiana, I'd approach them about this possibility.
I realized that, what with the holiday season approaching, I need to be careful about Items of Lust that I post. Like yesterday's casserole. Posting that was not a gift suggestion. I just loved the shape and shininess. Plus, I've not heard stellar reviews of Overstock.com.
Only two more weeks of faire to go. I'm worried about our Madam. I don't think I'm going to get
nottygypsy's bodice done (the first mock-up, maybe, but the final version with her good fabric, no). I didn't get my shawl done. Oh well.
I'm thinking it's time for me to bow out of the bellydance troupe again. I'll continue to take workshops and dance at Aladdin, but I don't want to commit time to the troupe anymore. I've sort of been doing it half-assed all along anyway, and I don't feel that's fair to the other members. I love bellydance, but it's not my life. There are too many other things I want to do and being in the troupe is not at the top of my list.
What is my list?
Relax. Maybe even go to a movie. Or read a book. Pet my cat.
Sew myself some winter clothes.
Get some promised sewing done for friends (with
professormass at the top of that sub-list).
Cook a freaking meal already! Something with, you know, vegetables.
Make up some Lydia-style torans for possible sale.
Try out some new art techniques and styles. I'd like to try collage and shrine-making, for example.
bestill, I'd love to get with you about this sometime.
tattooedartgirl, I might be emailing you for advice.
eBay the rest of my stuff-to-be-rid-of (Disney videos, Longaberger baskets, vintage Salem dinner place settings).
I think that's enough for right now.

1. How long have you had your LiveJournal/blog? Since May 8, 2003.
2. What do you consider to be the main purpose of your LiveJournal/blog? Staying in contact with friends.
3. If you could change something about your personal blogging style, what would it be? Nothing I can think of...
4. What are your criteria for adding someone to your friends list/blog roll? I like to have met them in person, or, failing that, have exchanged more than a couple emailed conversations. I want to feel like I know everyone on my flist.
5. Name one thing that you've never before written about in your LJ/blog. I don't believe I've ever mentioned that fact that I legally changed my name in 1991.

1. Have you ever been to the emergency room? Yes, on a couple occassions.
2. What's the worst pain you've ever had? When I crushed the pinky toe on my left foot by dropping a 40-pound floor tile on it.
3. If you could choose your doctor, do you prefer someone of the same or opposite sex? I prefer a female nurse practitioner.
4. Do you take vitamins? Yes. Many.
5. Would you prefer to go to the doctor, the dentist or go sky diving? I wouldn't mind going sky diving if someone else paid! But I don't have any particular dislike of going to either the doctor or the dentist.

Do you have any time for lunch at Jade? We'll pick you up. We're thinking 12:45ish (or sooner if I can get out of work right at noon).

Can you please email me directions to your place from faire site?

As for overstock.com, I can give you all the stellar reviews you want of that place. I love it and have been shopping there for years and have never had a single dissapointment. All of their items are of excellant quality and ridiculously cheap compared to other places. And I've bought everything from a two peson hammock to featherbeds and down comforters, to pillows, to vietnamese bowls in worldstock store, moroccan tea glasses, etc. etc. Point being, I've run the whole gamut of their selection and everything has been extraordinary.

And I think the wearing-a-dead-person creep factor would depend on one's feelings towards death in general. Someone who is bothered by ideas of death and dying and unresolved as to his reactions towards the inevitability of loved ones passing before him--probably not a good candidate to wear good-old-mom on a necklace. =D

If I could limit water bloat to my tits, I'd be ecstatic. And I'd eat Chinese everyday through the full run of faire. =D

I do fear that the fabric Jana picked out won't last long, though. It's one of those metallic brocades, and Madam can tell you just how well those hold up...especially on girls who need a lot of support. The fibers just don't hold up like upholstery fabric will.

I totally understand that. We keep adding things to our lives without removing some. There are only so many hours in a day.

In regards to the aforementioned sewing:
YAAAAAAAAAY!
You're the bestest long distance friend ever.

Friday 5 - amusing - 1991 is when my middle name became my legal middle name (before it was just a 'used' name - but when I got divorced and re-changed my name it became legal.
