I just heard two of my grad students walk past, discussing Serenity. Wow, Whedon really does cross demographics, doesn't he? Or is geekdom just expanding into other subcultures?

This morning I waited until noon for the gas man to show up and turn on my furnace. Turns out they were overloaded with calls and won't get out until tomorrow. Argh. Luckily my landlady will be able to let the guy in tomorrow, so I don't have to use four more hours of vacation time.

I tell you, it's just a thrill-a-minute around here. I don't know how you readers don't simply collapse of envy at my fun-filled life. Really, I don't.
