She blinded me with...

Walking through Haworth yesterday, I saw a fantastic comment on the Intelligent Design debacle. It was a photo of a young, attractive mother, her arms wrapped protectively around her child, with the words "They tried to teach my baby science."

Today, I found it's the cover for an Onion spoof. Pity there's not an actual article attached (at least not that I could find). I'm sure the Onion would have done a magnificent job with this one.

Yesterday I felt really blah and didn't want to come to work. Today, even more so. Pah. I want to be at home, working on my own stuff.

Reminder: Bellydancers at Aladdin this Thursday. 7:30.

UPDATE: In other content-free news, this is the best Dear Abby headline EVAR. "MEAT FROZEN TOO LONG ISN'T GOOD BUT MAY NOT BE BAD." Alas, the actual article isn't nearly as good as the one I dreamed up.

Your "Onion spoof" link actually goes to the Amazon page for Little, Big.

Happens to all of us! I hope you feel better about being at work as the day progresses.

I'm sure I won't mind being here so much when it's time to go home.

Fixed!

I also love the comment on the bottom of the picture: "Five Valuable Lessons In Humility I Opt To Ignore --- By Donald Trump"

Another good quote I saw about Intelligent Design

"Pat Robertson. His presence alone refutes the theory of 'intelligent design'."

You've seen this old Onion story before, haven't you?

Sorry that work is not fun for you today - I fully understand.
How do I get to Aladdin Thursday night? Do I need to call anyone?

Aladdin Cafe is at 1021 Massachusetts St. You can mapquest the directions I'm sure. No reservations needed.

Where's the best place to sit?

I *finally* get to come! :0)

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-01-11 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
There really isn't a best place...anyplace has it's advantages and disadvantages. You have the choice to sit in back and hear/be bombarded by the musicians or sit near the front where the music isn't so loud. Personally, if I was an audience member, I'd like to be by the drummers, but some folks have sensitive ears.
