Well, life can't be all bad. Sinfest finally got a new comic up.
I briefly saw 150.8 on the scale Saturday morning. That was exciting. Although I'm back up a pound this morning. Crazy things, those scales. Eh. I'm nearly down to a 28" waist and measurements are all I really care about. I'm mostly using the scale to keep me in line and feed my vanity a bit.
Speaking of vanity, anyone wanna go in together on an order from Cheeptrims?
A million thanks to
breaca,
cedarsong, and
everflame for dinner on Friday. The horse cock was excellent, and the company was sublime.
One of the photographers got back to me about the photos from the shoot a couple Fridays ago. They're here if you want to take a look. I don't like the way my skin looks in black and white. Bleh. Maybe it was the lighting. Dunno. The photos were a bit of a wakeup call as to my complete lack of muscle tone. I might be down the weight, but I still look flabby and doughy. Photos don't lie, and seeing that certainly adds to my enthusiasm for getting to the gym. I might use this one as my publicity shot if we ever finalize the weekly Aladdin gig.
Finally, I received an email that the Bellydance Costume Books I ordered are finally back from the printer and the author shipped them on Friday. Edit: They're here!!!!! I can't wait to get started on a new costume. That black and silver number I wore for the photo shoot is nearly ten years old, and it's my only straight cabaret getup. Definitely time to pull together some new costumes. I'm really looking forward to reading The Costume Goddess's tips and suggestions, especially for bra-building.
Speaking of costume stuff, I sent about $200 worth of old, unwanted, or outgrown dance costume stuff with JoAnne to St. Louis this weekend, and only two things sold. Luckily, one of them was one of my tassel belts--which JoAnne herself purchased. Sigh. I really don't know how I'm going to get rid of this stuff. Eight bucks for a pair of used harem pants is not outrageous, ya'll. And the belts are worth way more than the $70 I'm asking. I really wish I could unload some of these things. It's not like I can wear them anymore. The choli tops are too small and the tassel belts are too big. Grrrr. Ironically, if it was the other way around (tops too big, belts too small) I could alter them to fit. As it is, though: Not so much. Must. Get. Rid. Of. Grrrrr.
I spent part of Glorious Sunday walking around downtown. I picked up two CDs, one on the recommendation of
sdemory: Loveage: Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady By, only the one I bought is the instrumental only version and folks it is fantastic. I love it.
EDIT: Speaking of loving things. I came across this photo while paging through Yahoo's coverage of the Oscars. That has to be one of the best photos ever. It actually made me a little choked up. Beautiful, confident women, comfortable with themselves, obviously enjoying the company of each other. EDIT OF EDIT: Well Yahoo! changed the entire freaking slideshow and now the photo (of Meryl Streep and Lily Tomlin) is not anywhere to be found. Boo.
