Well, life can't be all bad. Sinfest finally got a new comic up.

I briefly saw 150.8 on the scale Saturday morning. That was exciting. Although I'm back up a pound this morning. Crazy things, those scales. Eh. I'm nearly down to a 28" waist and measurements are all I really care about. I'm mostly using the scale to keep me in line and feed my vanity a bit.

Speaking of vanity, anyone wanna go in together on an order from Cheeptrims?

A million thanks to [livejournal.com profile] breaca, [livejournal.com profile] cedarsong, and [livejournal.com profile] everflame for dinner on Friday. The horse cock was excellent, and the company was sublime.

One of the photographers got back to me about the photos from the shoot a couple Fridays ago. They're here if you want to take a look. I don't like the way my skin looks in black and white. Bleh. Maybe it was the lighting. Dunno. The photos were a bit of a wakeup call as to my complete lack of muscle tone. I might be down the weight, but I still look flabby and doughy. Photos don't lie, and seeing that certainly adds to my enthusiasm for getting to the gym. I might use this one as my publicity shot if we ever finalize the weekly Aladdin gig.

Finally, I received an email that the Bellydance Costume Books I ordered are finally back from the printer and the author shipped them on Friday. Edit: They're here!!!!! I can't wait to get started on a new costume. That black and silver number I wore for the photo shoot is nearly ten years old, and it's my only straight cabaret getup. Definitely time to pull together some new costumes. I'm really looking forward to reading The Costume Goddess's tips and suggestions, especially for bra-building.

Speaking of costume stuff, I sent about $200 worth of old, unwanted, or outgrown dance costume stuff with JoAnne to St. Louis this weekend, and only two things sold. Luckily, one of them was one of my tassel belts--which JoAnne herself purchased. Sigh. I really don't know how I'm going to get rid of this stuff. Eight bucks for a pair of used harem pants is not outrageous, ya'll. And the belts are worth way more than the $70 I'm asking. I really wish I could unload some of these things. It's not like I can wear them anymore. The choli tops are too small and the tassel belts are too big. Grrrr. Ironically, if it was the other way around (tops too big, belts too small) I could alter them to fit. As it is, though: Not so much. Must. Get. Rid. Of. Grrrrr.

I spent part of Glorious Sunday walking around downtown. I picked up two CDs, one on the recommendation of [livejournal.com profile] sdemory: Loveage: Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady By, only the one I bought is the instrumental only version and folks it is fantastic. I love it.

EDIT: Speaking of loving things. I came across this photo while paging through Yahoo's coverage of the Oscars. That has to be one of the best photos ever. It actually made me a little choked up. Beautiful, confident women, comfortable with themselves, obviously enjoying the company of each other. EDIT OF EDIT: Well Yahoo! changed the entire freaking slideshow and now the photo (of Meryl Streep and Lily Tomlin) is not anywhere to be found. Boo.

Yes, I'd love to go together on a CheepTrims order. My email is rowangolightly (at) gmail. I'll look later to see what I want to order.

Right now I'm still digging a hole in clay. Ugh. But it's good saddness therapy.

Lovely picture. :0)

What did you think of Michelle Williams' mustardy-yellow dress?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

What did you think of Michelle Williams' mustardy-yellow dress?

I'm trying not to think of it, thanks very much. barf

heh.

Feel free to question my taste, but I liked it. I didn't like the lipstick (it was too red-red... she was a hotdog with mustard-dress and ketchup-lips), but I liked the color and the shape.

:0( Well, fortunately I know I can't wear it, so you needed worry about that. (lol)

I had a delightful time Friday night myself! So glad you were able to join us!

Thank you so much for including me in the dinner party. It was faboo!

something about THAT black& white is wrong...I think it maybe a lighting/filter problem. Its not as flattering as it should be, and b/w SHOULD be stunning for you.

I love the color ones however, LOVE!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I know I don't look that bad in B/W. LOL!

Thanks! Those motion ones with the scarf came out nicely. I wish I'd brought my real veil! I was just playing around with the other model's shoulder scarf.

I hope to see more color ones soon. The photographer said he'd send me a more comprehensive CD.

Thank you! The lighting was set up for color, and he was shooting digital, so it's likely that he just changed his setting on the camera...or even just photoshopped the color out. That would account for the weird tones.

I'm 5'7". And 151.8 as of this morning. So yeah, I know I'm not fat...just outta shape.

Re: Your edit. What number photo were you refering too? That seems to default to the first pic, which is of Ang Lee.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
WTF? They've changed the whole freaking slideshow!!! I can't even find that photo now. Bummer.

[identity profile] solan-t.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Bummer, indeed. :(

Yeah I totally had a LIFE IS OKAY LIFE IS OKAY moment watching Lily & Meryl, too.

And the pictures are beautiful. You are beautiful.

Hmmmm...if I could alter the pants to fit, I'd probably buy some from you.

Scales

[identity profile] pamelonian.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
I saw my weight fluctuate a whole pound from 5:00 to 7:30 this evening. I shed about 5-6 lbs of water just last week. It was a bad one, my hands were swollen. I can't believe how much a woman's weight can fluctuate.

I read that on the equator people will "weigh" as much as 10 lbs less when they get on the scale. It has to do with the planet's equatorial bulge slightly lessening gravity's effect. I look forward to stepping on that scale!

All that aside, I am glad the working out is helping you to feel better!

I look forward to stepping on that scale!

Ha! Yes, you'll have to let me know how that goes.

I could lose up to six pounds a day on a bellydance day out at RenFest. Ooof.

I like the one where you're laughing at the end. It's nice to see you smile long distance.

Awwww. You'll get to see me smile up close this summer! *hug*
