Call me Camille

I despise being frail and sickly. I'm used to it, and I can laugh about it usually, but it gets old. I've been plagued with general health problems my entire life. I don't expect things to improve as I age, and I'm usually pretty stoic about it, but it does get tiresome.

Yesterday I forgot my Protonix (the stomach-acid reducer that the doctor recommended for my stomach problems). I spent the whole day with a faintly sour stomach (well, "faintly" for me, that is). I was pain and cramp-free for the week I took my Protonix last week so those two facts lead me to believe the Protonix was helping. I had the doctor call me in a prescription this morning (I was on a two-week trial sample pack). I hope it's not too expensive. Luckily the thyriod med that I will be on the rest of my life is only $2.33 a month with my current co-pay.

Some of you might know I have some of the world's worst sinus problems. My sinuses are enormous, cause me migranes, and are prone to swelling and infection. I've kept serious problems at bay through a rigorous application of nasal irrigation, Xlear, and Olive Leaf Extract capsules when needed. But lately I've had the slight vertigo and headaches that indicate some sinus swelling. Yesterday my body decided to take the leap and did quite a number on my left inner ear. Either fluid or sinus pressure (or both) was causing the little bones in there to do what I can only describe as "squwnching." When I yawned, chewed, swallowed, or tugged/pressed on my ear I could hear things go "squwnch." Thorougly unpleasant.

I was hoping some yoga might clear it up, but after spending a whopping two seconds in headstand, I felt like my face was going to explode. For reference, I can usually stay in headstand for at least 30 to 45 seconds. Um, last night not so much.

On [livejournal.com profile] adammaker's recommendation, I started taking Serapeptase for the sinus problems. Took my first two capsules last night and two again this morning. So far the ear is less squwnchy, but I can still hear it when I tug the ear, and I can definitely feel pressure in there. We'll see if that improves. At least the Serapeptase isn't horribly expensive. $17 something for a bottle of 90 capsules.

Boo to this general bad health of mine. Boo to stress, unhappiness, insomnia, sore throats, stuffy noses, headaches, stomachaches, earaches, heartaches, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. I'm sick and tired of it. Literally.

Ok, in other less whiny news, my Ramones Anthology CD arrived today. Hurray, I'm no longer limited to listening to my MP3 collection in the car. Anyone know if Social Distortion has ever released a compilation set? Yeah, yeah, only poseurs get "best of" albums. Whatever.
