A remarkably superficial post

Tell me I'm not the only person who thinks this is seriously fucked up. Absence Makes The Glass Glow Fondly.

Does anyone know if Real Player can convert .cda files to .mp3? If it can, how do I do it? If it can't, does anyone have software that can? Solved by [livejournal.com profile] professormass!

Last night, a good workout and not a bad burger for dinner with [livejournal.com profile] adammaker at Montana Mike's. It wasn't up to my memories of burgers at Molly McGee's back in the day, but Molly's has not aged well, friends. Not at all.

No squwnching today (yet), hurray! And dinner with [livejournal.com profile] cedarsong and [livejournal.com profile] everflame this evening! Double hurray!

I'm wearing a skirt again today at work--third day this week! I look all pretty 'n' shit. It's a little cooler today, so I wore my burgundy wool flannel full skirt. It's so...cuddly. I like it.

is your body up to curry?

not the crazy red kind we made before, but regular curry.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, yes! Curry sounds fabooo!!!! And that crazy red curry was wonderful. I haven't had any stomach problems for a couple weeks since I've been taking this medicine that costs as much as a week's worth of groceries.

great!

We only have the regular curry, but it will still be yummy!

[identity profile] professormass.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)

I can convert it. Why don't you upload it to your server, and I'll take it from there?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I have a few. Will do. Thanks, hon!

[identity profile] professormass.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)

Just email me when they're up.

Also...I think we should start a meme. People should name some random terrible thing, and then strike it through, and put "Solved by [livejournal.com profile] professormass!"

Yes. I will go and start this meme nowish.

That glass thing is definitely creepy as hell.

D.

And about the glasses

[identity profile] tessagratton.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I find it rather amusing. And one of those things I cannot imagine spending more than 5$ bucks on. They're surely be a lot more than that!

I just think that the people who would buy these things probably don't need more encouragement to drink while their partner is away. I'm speaking from experience, here. *cough*

Seriously fucked up

Re: the glasses, I can see this starting innocent enough and then the girlfriend in California is wondering why her glass is lit up like a Christmas tree at 3 am on a Saturday morning. Or maybe it's the other way around and he starts calling her because his glass never lit up the other night when she was supposed to be home, studying, and she says, "I wasn't thirsty", and "why did you spend a month's salary on these stupid things anyway?"

HA! I hadn't even thought about those possibilities. Oh god, yes. Although, really, that's some comedy gold there.

And then it would lead to cheating by the separated lovers drinking from different glasses so their lover wouldn't find out. They'd start wondering why the glass never it up and worry that the other was getting dehydrated...

Yeah, lots of possibilities there...

The glass thing is a weird novelty to be sure. What freaks me is that last sentence: "These are being unveiled in Montreal at a conference for computer-human interaction."

Ewwww!

If you ever end up with another yoga-free Monday night, SetEmUp Jacks has the tastiest burgers at half price. Definitely hits up there with the Old Molly's.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-03-10 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh! Good to know.

My next yoga-free Monday is costume consultation with Jo, but perhaps when we have our next inter-session break in May!
