Tempting, but no

Flights to Shanghai from Chicago $625 round trip. Of course what the hell I'd do when I got there I have no idea. Right now I need the sort of vacation where I can sit on a beach, watch the sun set, and get drunk with a reasonably safe assumption that I won't get, er, shanghai'ed. Speaking of non-happening vacations, I cancelled my room reservation for Viva Las Vegas weekend. Again. Second year in a row I've cancelled. Suck.

The problem with this poster is it makes W look a lot cooler than he really is.

[livejournal.com profile] sdemory, I tried to email you back to confirm time on Sunday, but got a permanent delivery error. Dunno what's up with that, but just to say: Yes. See you then. I'll see what I can do to work up a righteous anger for you.

I must be quite a sight when I'm angry because I've now had more than a few comments (electronic and otherwise) to that effect. Hm. I'll have to remember that for the next photo shoot. Anger is apparently a good look for me. I gather there is a widely-appreciated audio element to my anger appeal as well. Who knew?

My throat's not feeling so great again today. More drainage. Ugh. I'm ready for the serrapeptase to complete its magic. Anytime now. Feel free. One of my grad students just handed me a few Halls Defense drops. Very sweet.

This weekend's filling up. Tonight is cookie-baking, laundry, and the possible company of [livejournal.com profile] bestill. I'm in KC all day Saturday and getting home late. Sunday is breakfast with [livejournal.com profile] sdemory, gym in the early afternoon since I won't be going tomorrow, a friend coming over to look at purchasing one of my tassel belts, and then a close conversation between me, [livejournal.com profile] adammaker and some booze on Sunday evening. It's gonna be a quick weekend, I fear.

1. 10 years ago what did you think you would be doing now? My brain doesn't work like that. I don't plan ahead that far.
2. Where do you think you will be in 5 years from now? I don't really plan more than a year in advance--and that's only when it comes to planning vacations.
3. Do you live life one day at a time or look to the future. That'd be one day at a time, jack.
4. Do you wish you could go back in time and undo something in your life? Yes, but I don't dwell on it.
5. If you could send a message back in time and give a younger version of yourself some advice, what would it be? Don't stop going to the gym. Don't stop exercising every day.

1. What's your favorite song these days? I don't have one.
2. Do you wear glasses? Today, yes.
3. Have you ever counted sheep to fall asleep? Um. No.
4. Reality TV: love it or hate it? Hate.
5. Recommend a single on your friendslist that we should all get to know a little better: What? Recommend a single? Single person that we should all get to know a little better? What???

It's bad when you're only doing a five to mock it. *sigh*

Google's QotD: Quote of the Day - Saint Francis de Sales - "Be who you are and be that well." Yeah, but what if you're an asshole? Of course this genius also came up with "While I am busy with little things, I am not required to do greater things." Sounds like a real go-getter type of guy. Although, I kind of like "Do not be troubled by St. Bernard's saying that 'Hell is full of good intentions and wills'." Because, you know, that's what will make Hell so interesting!

Willow! Tell me you were quoting from Willow! No? darn.

Sorry, no, I wasn't...what line prompted the hope, though?

I will need to set it up, I think.

Mad Martigan is first seen spending 'quality alone time' with a woman who suddenly starts panicking - her husband is coming! She decided to hide Val Kilmer.. I mean, Mad Martigan by dressing him as a woman - not very effectively. Husband comes in, sizes up MM, and says 'You're cute. Wanna BREEEEED?" MM seems to think about it a bit, and says "Tempting.... but no".

Ha! I just vaguely remember that. Ah, the days when Val Kilmer wasn't a neurotic jerk...

Sorry about having to cancel your VLV plans. You haven't cancelled your San Diego plans, have you? I think you can do the above without getting shanghai'ed--thanks to the company of enjoyable people.

I never made firm San Diego plans...and now they have a wedding and new baby visit to schedule around this spring/summer so things are up in the air with that.

Yay for tassel-belt selling goodness!

Did you know that Sunnye is appearing with Sellout tonight at the Granada?

$9, or $7 if you give the "I'm on the email list secret phrase 'Love Boat'", according to the maillist thing skyflame posted.
Heh, and I thought Barth was just making up a story when he told J that yesterday.
