Out like a lamb

I know it's been a rough winter. How, you ask me? When I'm nervous or stressed, I chew my lips. When I chew my lips, they (obviously) dry out. When my lips dry out, I apply enormous amounts of lip balm/gloss. I just now threw out my fourth tube of balm/gloss since January. It was the Dr. Pepper one, too. *sigh* I'm very happy I found a dozen tubes of those discontinued flavors on eBay. Otherwise, can you imagine the tragedy? I shudder to think.

One of my officemates just mentioned the powers that be moved up Daylight Savings Time by one week this year. It used to be (I thought) the second weekend in April. But now it's the first weekend, instead. So, set your clocks forward one hour starting Sunday at 2:00 a.m.

1. How impulsive are you? Not at all.
2. What is the most impulsive thing you've ever done? Most of my shoe-shopping is impulsive.
3. What is the most unimpulsive (i.e., deliberative) thing you've ever done? I am deliberate. It's how I live.
4. How easy do you usually find it to make decisions about what you want to do? I make decisions very easily--perhaps not quickly, but once I consider all the options and possible outcomes, it's usually fairly simple for me to pick a course of action.
5. What was the last impulse that you had? Did you act on it? Why or why not? I bought some fabric for a second bodice for [livejournal.com profile] nottygypsy (hi, hon! surprise!). Luckily, if she doesn't like it, I have an alternate buyer.

1. Name one of your flaws: I'm selfish.
2. Have you ever won first place? I've won a few costume contests, and first place in a regional jewelry design juried exhibit way back in high school. Nothing big. It's a good thing I'm not competitive.
3. Who is the last person to make you smile? One of the profs who stopped by to chat this morning.
4. Describe a time when you should have tried harder: At the gym last night?
5. What are you good at? Eating.

Looks like the drag queens are going to get nice weather this year. Good.

Daylight Savings Time

Because, you know Daylight Savings Time actually saves us time and if we start it earlier, we save MORE time. Why not just make Daylight Savings Time the base time, and then have some special "Summer time" thing going, so even MORE time can be saved. And then make THAT the base time. And have a special Summer Time....

Soon, we would ALL be working nights and have all day to... well... sleep?

I agree. Daylight Savings Time is ridiculous. I hate it.

"Hate" pretty much describes my feelings on the subject, too. And not just because I get the !@#$%^* sun in my eyes for several more weeks EVERY TIME THE TIME CHANGES, either.

New fabric? yea! (second bodice! kick ass) damn forgot measurements will send them tonight!

I think the powers that be have decided that we need to save MORE daylight, hence the extending of when we start and stop.

I'm with [livejournal.com profile] gamera_spinning on this. Frakkin' ninjas.

Wow, you can actually keep hold of lip balm until it runs out? Mine either get lost or destroyed by our favorite four year old. Of course, whenever I buy a new one, I find at least one and up to four nearly full ones.

I hate having one less hour to sleep on Monday morning.
And why on Sunday? why not Saturday?
Who made this shit up anyway?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-03-31 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Um, honey, you move your clock forward at 2 a.m. on Sunday. Most people do it the night before...on Saturday.

Nehhver mind.
