Taking the good with the bad
This is really great news for me, although I doubt anyone else cares. I get to use the dance studio in the Recreation Building at 11th and Vermont for the next couple weeks to practice my solo for CotK. Space and mirrors. I get to use it twice a week for an hour each time--Wednesdays from 7pm to 8pm and Fridays from 4:30p to 5:30p. It means I won't be available for the monthly Knit & Crochet at Aimee's for the next two months. See ya'll when I'm done with the summer show.
Bummer last night. I made another dress--different pattern this time, but same pattern company. This was an A-line shirt dress. The other one that I made three of was a princess seamed sheath. The A-line pictured on the pattern envelope? Not so much with the flare over the hips. At all. The sheath dress (which should be a more snug fit) has about twice as much ease built in through the hips and thighs. The shirt dress should fit my figure better (flare at hips, darts at waist), but no. In fact, it doesn't fit at all. It's fine enough in the bodice but the bottom is so tight I wouldn't even dream of sitting down in it. In fact, it barely buttons closed below my navel. Rats. This is normal when sewing with commercial patterns, but it doesn't make it any less frustrating. I guess that's one pattern I can remove from the collection.

Pattern woes, I hate 'em.

Any way to alter the pattern so it will work or would that bee a waste of time?
