One Two Three Four

First, I would like to share this You Tube offering, heads-up thanks to [livejournal.com profile] jjgalahad. It's of a guy dancing all over the world. For some reason, it kind of made me choke up.

Second, thanks to everyone who came to Cairo on the Kaw! I was pleased with both my performances. I was less pleased with the sound/light guy who left me sans spotlight for half my solo the first night and then cut out my music before I was done exiting at the second show. But oh well, at least my underwear didn't fall off.

Third, another night of not enough sleep. Five and a half hours. Ugh. Although the late night was for a very good cause. Good company, good wine, and handsome young men being shocked (shocked! I say) when told my age. However, appearances to the contrary, I am too old for this shit. I need to get more sleep.

Fourth, I have the cutest cat ever.

Edit: Fifth, I guess:
Caught the bouquet Caught the bouquet

Here's the photo [livejournal.com profile] theoneinblue's mom took right after I caught the bouquet at the wedding. Thirty-six years of avoiding this particular grenade. I hope she appreciated it.

Sorry we didn't make it. We were going to try to catch Sunday's show, but I didn't get laundry done to get myself dressed and showered in time. Boo for me.

That video is AWESOME! I don't know why, really... it just is!

I feel ya - I didn't get enough sleep last night either. Trying to function on less than 7 hours of sleep just doesn't work for me.

Sorry we couldn't make it. That's two years running. Damn! :(

And that video is incredibly sweet. Some of the places he was dancing made me think at first that part of it was CGI, but then I watched his Good Morning America clip, and nope, all real. He said he was able to do it because he is "independently poor", and then he got sponsered by a chewing gum company after he had already started.

Nothing should stop you from dancing, should you have the desire.
He had the desire, and he went to all those places and danced.
I am blown away.

Loved your number at the show, I could see all the practice you had put in, not matter what the external technical issues were.
Bravo.

Love the grin in the pic!

I have never caught a bouquet; always avoided it like the plague.

This Spring when we did that Civil War reinactor's wedding, the mother of the bride forced me to take part in it, knowing some of what Bruce and I have planned, and it was damned awkward. There were only 3 or 4 'young' ladies standing there and I had all I could do to not put my hands behind my back as I hate this tradtion but I couldn't be rude to this nice woman.

Fortunately, an 8 or 9 year old girl, leaped forward and caught the durned thing. I was SO grateful!

And yes, you do look awesome in that dress...
