Time goes so fast when you're having fun

Regarding the circumstances surrounding the photo I posted yesterday: Attheoneinblue's wedding last month, her mom was insistent about the bouquet toss, despite the fact that all the single girls in attendance were pretty much die-hard feminist types for whom this particular tradition is mildly distasteful at the least. But since there were only six or so of us, we lined up for it, each of us I think feeling a bit like we were lining up for a firing squad, not a wedding tradition. theoneinblue threw the flowers over her shoulder and I swear the world went into slow motion. It was like my own personal bullet time. I looked to my right and Beth (whom you can see in the charming black and pink dress) was squinting her eyes closed and had her hands to her sides. The girl to my left (I didn't know her) actually took a step backwards. I looked at the bouquet arching towards us and I knew the damn thing was going to fall on the floor if I didn't do something. So I just reached out my arm and, without me even stepping forward, the damn thing fell right into my hand. theoneinblue did thank me later. It was a true act of selflessness--my personal wedding gift to her. I'm afraid it means those other girls are gonna have a long wait for their own trips down the aisle. Sorry, gals.
