Stupid cat

I love my kitty. Really, I do. But last night, when she simply would not settle down to sleep, I thought I was going to kill her. When she woke me up for the fifth time by walking over my head at two o'clock in the fucking morning she got locked in the bathroom. I wanted to get some kitty snuggle time before leaving for St. Louis, but I needed sleep more.

Damn cat.

Now I'm exhausted and I have a really long weekend ahead of me. Ugh.

Last night I spoke with the gracious St. Louis girl who'll be putting me up for the weekend so I don't have to pay for a hotel during the Suhaila workshop. She said after she picked me up at the airport, we'd run by the grocery store to pick up food for the weekend. As I took a slug from the bottle of wine theoneinblue brought over for dinner Wednesday (didn't want to have to dirty a glass, you know), she said "I don't keep a lot of food in the house. I mostly just have wine in the cupboard." I looked at the 1.5 liter bottle of Yellow Tail chardonnay I was holding by the neck and I said "I think we're going to get along just fine."

Must have been crazy cat night. Bastion was whining all "morning" which he usually only does when his bowl is empty which it wasn't. Woke us both up at seperate times. He's usually so good-natured in the morning and just jumps into bed beside me.

Have a great time in St. Louis at your workshop. It would be fun to get together when you get back. . . will things be slowing down for you by then? I'm going to be trying some of the recipes in the cook book you leant me!

P.S. I found out what your comment meant "at least my underwear didn't fall off." OMG! I felt sorry for her but thought it was funny at the same time.

We once had a cat who would get lonely at night. We had to shut our door to keep him from coming in and walking cheerfully to and fro on our faces. But he was persistent. He would put his paw under the door and rattle it in an attempt to make it pop open, and if that didn't work, he would HURL his portly little body against the closed door. REPEATEDLY.

And a propos of nothing in your post, I just wanted to say that the needle cases arrived today, and they are swell! Even prettier and more substantial than I pictured from the photos. I LOVE the combination of prints, especially the one I had picked out for myself. It is, indeed, just what I wanted. I trust you got my check. Well worth it! And bon voyage!
