Fourth weekend
We're over halfway done, my friends!
It was lovely to meet
arkhamrefugee and his travelling companion D, who mentioned having an LJ but damned if I remember what it is (sorry!). I hope the brief visit was worth the trip out. D, I hope you get your knee fixed soon and that it wasn't too awfully painful.
Once again, my weather magic worked and I (yes! I alone!) held back the rain for another weekend. I have a very powerful ritual that involves carrying my wet-weather bumbershoot and not putting on sunscreen. It's an effective spell and works more often than not. Hooray me. Hooray for not walking around in the rain.
Saturday started out happy on the garb front with the much-anticipated arrival of my new hat, seen in this lovely patron photo here. I was so thrilled with it I wore it for most of both days this weekend. It's teh hawt.
A headache started to develop near the end of Saturday and I was very glad I'd not planned to attend the various afters offered. By the time I got home, it was pounding pretty bad, and the pain (and diphenhydramine) knocked me out pretty much immediately after my shower. I was so gone I didn't even hear the game traffic leaving after I fell asleep.
Sunday I woke up with a bad sinus headache that threatened migraine status. By 10:30 I could feel it creeping up on maximum density. Luckily,
breaca,
otterdancing and a friend of
starwyse shot some reiki at me while
starwyse reiki'ed and rubbed my neck and skull. It helped immensely and I was even able to soldier through parade! Many thanks, you wonderful women. I felt a little delicate through the rest of the day, but that was a huge step above "fragile" or, worse "broken"--which is certainly where I was headed.
Despite the new hat, I don't think Azucena really came out much this weekend. I think that's why Azure kept calling me Lydia. I even had a hard time staying in accent. Stupid allergies and barometric pressure shifts.
This will be a busy week, with a sewing commission for a friend, and remaking the first of
nottygypsy's bodices. sigh I'll be offline Wednesday, Thursday, and possibly Friday.

We are rather a force of nature when we're all grouped together. =) Thank you. That's a beautiful compliment.
Hurray for return trips! See you then!
