Blood pressure 140/90 and rising
The House Project whose nature I am not yet allowed to divulge is still dragging on and has started to take a toll on my general mental health. I continue to reassure 0 (and myself) "No honey, I'm not upset with you, I'm just upset" but that's beginning to change. A cigarette-smoke filled jacket lying on top of my coat this morning nearly sent me over the edge. There is nowhere besides the hallway and bedroom area where I can safely brush against walls or furniture without covering myself in a fine layer of white drywall dust. I have not been able to cook a real meal since October. I cannot walk through the kitchen to the refrigerator without moving construction debris, tools, tarps, or ladders.
Work is hell right now. It's a busy time of year anyway, and the Graduate School is adding more stress by pulling some asinine power stunts. As with most of the stuff they do, I agree with the concept behind their actions, but their implementation really sucks. I had to deal with two panicked students yesterday who, had the situation been handled properly, would never have even known there was a problem. Because, really there wasn't a problem in the end. Just some paperwork that needed correcting.
I'm behind in Spanish and I have to give a presentation on Wednesday the 19th.
And as I suspected:

Anne Rice is writing your life. Go you goth girl,
go.
