What in the world do you do with 2,000 friends? That's the new limit for paid and permanent users. Holy crap, lions.
I finished the muslin for a new dress this weekend. Again, a pattern I bought so long ago, it's discontinued. Pity, too, because it fit me really well. The only alteration I had to make was at the back neckline, where I nipped it in just a bit to keep it from gaping. I made the muslin (that's what we sewing types call a mock-up) out of a charming western novelty print (red of course) and black contrast strips for the front pleats and side tabs. The next one will be black linen with cotton flames fabric for the pleats and tabs. It's currently on the cutting table. Fancy baby!
Butterick patterns are on sale through today at Hancock's. I simply must add this to the pattern collection. I haven't been this enamored with a commercial pattern design for a long time. I think that will be a stellar way to use up some of these lightweight upholstery fabrics I've been hoarding.
Oh, hurray. My exercise ball from Gaiam just arrived. I tell you, I am never ordering anything from this company again. I've ordered from them three times and every time I've been disappointed with their customer service. And they're supposed to be one of the best for ordering yoga supplies? I can't imagine how. Or why. The yoga supply market must be pretty hard up for suppliers. Because Gaiam sucks. Their products are fine, but oh my god, getting them is a joke.
The irony is, now my ball has arrived and I'm not sure I have the energy to pump it up. Because, my darlings, once again: I'm sick. Last night I woke up feeling chilled (phenomenally rare for me), dehydrated, and with a very sore throat. I still feel pretty much the same right now. I'm guzzling the Emergen-C and hoping against hope that I'm back up to par by Saturday.
