Reassurances

I missed nearly two full days of work (six hours Wednesday, and all day yesterday). I'm still terribly congested and my eyes burn like crazy. But the sore throat is mostly gone, and I'm coughing less. So that's something.

I'm trying to decide if I want to bother making an appointment to see a doctor for new allergy medication and/or beg her for a referral to the chiropractor. I really need to shop around for a new PCP. I've been unhappy with Lawrence Family Practice since Susan left.

Absolute piles of stuff in my desk and email inboxes, and one major work problem that I really don't want to deal with but oh well.

I'm here. I'm not great. But I'm here.

Ugh -- here's hoping it gets better. It's so uunreasonable that someone who loves spring as much as you do should be so punished by it! Spring is a bitch.

I KNOW.

Susan left!!!!! Dark hair, long finger nails, has a little girl? NOoooo!! She was great!

It sounds like you are feeling better...

Yeah, she really was great.

Appearances are decieving. I feel like crap. =(

Susan left?

I had no idea that she was going to leave.

Might I suggest a chiropractic?
Dr. Mark at the Chiropractic Experience is great.

Yeah, she left under very curious circumstances. I heard she got fired, which makes me want to get a different doctor even more. Anyone who'd fire her doesn't deserve my business.

Actually I plan to go to Mikell Adams--I've heard good things about her allergy treatments.

~sends lots of healing/sunshine/feel-better vibes~

Thanks. I need 'em.

Drs Ron and Nancy Burt are mine at First Med. They're the Best, and the staff is great, save for one doc I had a run-in with that I just don't see anymore.
They are sympathetic to alternative medicine and fully support the belief that the patient does know what's best for herself at times.
I highly recommend them.
Dr Dunlap is their newest physician, and he's also fab, although if having a hot doc is a bit disturbing, well.. what can I say? he's hot. He gave me exactly what I asked for in my scrips and offered to make it easier for me on the insurance without my asking first That says a lot to me.

I don't know if First Med is covered by Premiere Blue...what insurance do you have through KU?

[identity profile] bestill.livejournal.com 2007-03-16 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I have Blue Cross Choice (or something like that) and I can go there.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-03-16 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Cool. I'll have to go look it up. Thanks!

[identity profile] the-themiscyran.livejournal.com 2007-03-16 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Ron Burt is the doc that sent [livejournal.com profile] gmskarka immediately to the skin specialist after one look at his 'weird-looking-mole'. Therefore, I lurve him.

[identity profile] the-themiscyran.livejournal.com 2007-03-16 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, they are. That's what we have.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-03-16 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Awesomeness.

[identity profile] redheadfae.livejournal.com 2007-03-16 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it's the same. I have BC/BS but I'm not sure what sub category.
First Med has taken me on quite a few different insurance co's. And you know I've had a few!

[identity profile] bestill.livejournal.com 2007-03-16 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I was just going to suggest First Med. That's also where I go. And yes, Dr. Dunlap is HOT. I've been seeing Dr. Ramburg there lately for my nasal polyps. Sometimes I see different doctors there, and I've been happy with all of them. And they are happy to give samples, etc. so you don't have to pay for expensive medicines.

I had a minor disagreement with Dr. Alexander and she was a bit snotty about it, so we didn't hit it off well at all. She also made an error on my Rx, even though I knew I was right, and I ended up having to drive back across town to get it fixed. No apology was offered for the error or the inconvenience, which is not like any of their staff at all.

I had a smartass remark all ready to roll, and then remembered that god always shouts "payback's a bitch!" and then lets fly with my own version of pollen hell when I do that. My Personal Crisis averted, hopefully.

Hope you pull through it soon. Is summer better for you? I get a nasty second set of allergies at the end of summer.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-03-19 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Summer is much better, yeah. Spring and Fall are the killers for me. Fucking mold spores.

[identity profile] chronovore.livejournal.com 2007-03-20 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
Fucking mold spores.

For a second there, I thought we were playing a D&D game.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-03-20 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I wish. At least in that I'd have a chance to make my saving throw.
