Ok, done now!

I'm ready for something good. It's going to have to be pretty damn big bunch of good to pull me out of this funk.

Shitty time at the Suhaila workshop.

Infuriating bullshit going on in my personal life.

Developers and expansionists won the day in yesterday's elections.

Stress at work and at home.

Still not sleeping.

Tired of people acting like selfish children and other people not taking a stand against such behavior.

So yeah. I'm ready to have a good time for a while. Any takers?

I'm heading to the beach today, I would take you with me if I could!!

I've been meaning to post in re: the skirt, which arrived Saturday, but then procrastinated because I didn't want to post until I had pictures. IT'S AWESOME. Slightly too big at back of waist band only, but otherwise fits my hips/ass perfectly. And it's SUCH an awesome material. I felt totally fancy baby when I tried it on.

The *bad* thing is that I'm a fair bit over what I like to think of as my "normal" weight (in that I'm certainly not huge or anything, but I've veered outside of my self-prescribed limits and don't fit in any of the pants in my closet) and things like this skirt make me want to not lose anything!!!

Oh, man. Just think of me while you're at the beach, OK? It's freezing here.

I'm so happy you like the skirt! Isn't that fabric the greatest? You can always keep it as a "fat skirt" for period-bloat days. =D

*groooooooooooooan*

I'm sorry, and I'm with you.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Boo. Contrary to popular belief, misery does not love company. Sorry to hear you've got the blues, too.

[identity profile] curieuse.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I need to kick it (and figure out how to style my new hair) by my job int. at 3:30.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Geez. At least I'm not on a time schedule to pull myself outta this hole. Good luck. Good luck at the interview, too!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll keep you posted, but it's looking pretty bleak from here.

[identity profile] gamera-spinning.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, is your amazon.com wishlist address current?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Why yes, yes it is!

[identity profile] redheadfae.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)

For a good time, call 867-5309

sorry, that was lame.

Would a viewing of something fab help? I'm free tonight.

[identity profile] gamera-spinning.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Excellent! There's a little bit of Marti Brom love on it's way. Should be there soon (like tomorrow).

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
You. Are. Awesome.

I've been missing those CDs since [livejournal.com profile] 0verdrive and I split up.

Thank you.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, I just got invited to preview a play this evening. Which rocks.

Enjoy

[identity profile] gamera-spinning.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
You're most certainly welcome. Sorry things have sucked lately. It sounds trite and cliche, but things will get better, they always do; it's just a question of when.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_luaineach/ 2007-04-04 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't just like it, I absolutely love it. I'm not joking, I literally did this out loud little squeal of delight when I saw that the pocket was a real pocket. And that button!

I just love it. I felt like immediately I should be in sort of slouchy black baby doll sweater, with my glasses perched on my nose, leaning sort of against something, staring out into the middle distance somewhere, and appearing to think great thoughts. Perhaps brushing my bangs out of my eyes. Er, I mentioned feeling totally fancy baby in it, didn't I?

I will send beach juju your way!

[identity profile] redheadfae.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 03:10 pm (UTC)(link)
ooh, very nice.
The invite stands for whatever day we can work out then.

[identity profile] jamer-31.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
i am always up for a good time :) (restrictions apply) lol

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Hooray for feeling fancy baby!!!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
=D

I'll keep that in mind. Too bad there's no demolition derbys scheduled in the near future...not that I could afford to go right now, anyway.

[identity profile] sdemory.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Hell yes. I'm considering getting in on some roller derby on Friday night, if you're up for that. Alternately, hanging-out and running around would be slick beyond measure.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
This Friday? Really? Email me details, wouldja?

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_luaineach/ 2007-04-04 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Posted pictures of my ass in the skirt!

[identity profile] jamer-31.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
derbys rule. :) i look forward to them every year.

[identity profile] arian1.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
If that was realy your number, I would die laughing.

[identity profile] arian1.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I vote for random fling with nubile college boy to just work it outta your system!

But that's just me.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I had the opportunity for that one last year, but I turned it down. =b

[identity profile] arian1.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Well. See. No mercy then!

[identity profile] redheadfae.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a plumbing service in the area that uses that number.
The ads are pretty funny, they completely play on it.

[identity profile] bestill.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps it's not too late!

[identity profile] bestill.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, when ever you want to vent/bitch/whine, I'll lend you my ear and shoulder. You've certainly listened to me do that. I'm open for fun and good times too!

Things will get better! (Right?)

Let me know when you are up for hanging out & making stuff.

[identity profile] chronovore.livejournal.com 2007-04-07 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
Roller derby? Really? What's the attraction?

I'm baffled because I remember it from when I was in elementary school, and I thought it was dead, and now I've been hearing about it from multiple sources for the last half year. Color me baffled.

[identity profile] sdemory.livejournal.com 2007-04-09 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
It's a multi-part thing:

1) There's the pure, campy spectacle of young women in costumes shoving each other around on roller skates.
2) There's actually more than a bit of athleticism to the whole thing, which is fun.
3) The Kansas City matches are more all-purpose alt-culture happenings than just roller derby things... bands play, belly-dancers dance and shenanigans occur.
4) Because of the neighborhood in which I live and the places which I frequent, I seem to know half of the derby girls by sight. It's good to back a Midtown KC girl.
5) Four hours or so of live entertainment's hard to come by for less than $20.
6) Did I mention the costumes? Because they're outstanding.
7) Rockabilly girls. On skates. Shoving each other. On skates.

[identity profile] chronovore.livejournal.com 2007-04-09 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Ya should'a listed "Rockabilly girls" right up front. That'd get me there; actually, I know I'm sorta mixing genres, but if I could get punk/swing bands playing to accompany rockabilly skategrrls, I would be in pig heaven.

[identity profile] sdemory.livejournal.com 2007-04-09 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Well, then, prepare to be abhorrent in the sight of Muslims and Jews, my friend, because a KC Roller Warriors event has punk and swing bands playing to accompany rockabilly skategrrls.

Pig heaven is yours, once you slip the seductive lure of O-sakka and come to the wholesome Middle West!

[identity profile] chronovore.livejournal.com 2007-04-10 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
prepare to be abhorrent in the sight of Muslims and Jews, my friend

WIN.

[identity profile] sdemory.livejournal.com 2007-04-10 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
WIN?

Outstanding! Halal/kosher humor FTW!
