It burns!

Allergies are back with a vengeance. I've been coughing so much that my throat is sore and scratchy. And my lungs actually burn. Like I've been smoking a lot. Which I haven't. And when I cough, I feel a rattle about halfway down, which means I've got stuff building up in my lungs. It's not just post-nasal drip. Lovely.

In happier news, my personal life is taking a definite turn for the better. It's good to be stood up for--and comforted. Thank you to all who helped with either. I hope that the coming weeks will result in less stress, and perhaps result in better sleep.

Tomorrow, [livejournal.com profile] nottygypsy and I are going to start working on her second round of faire garb. I've managed to find some lovely green bodice fabrics for her. Let's hope they match her existing chemises, etc.

I'm going to try to write up the disappointing Suhaila workshop experience later today. Work's been crazy busy this week and there's been no time. If things go well (meaning people get back to me about stuff), I'll be busy today, too. But seeing as it's Friday, I fear that most folks have already started their weekend. Lucky bastards.

Burning inside, not good.

Are your allergies being boosted by the construction in your building?
Air-cleaner at your desk a possibility?

Glad to hear the personal things are improving!

*stunned silence*

Why has that not occurred to me? I bet you are totally correct. Oh my god! Which is why I felt so much better after my four days off and now I'm feeling like shit again. Unfortunately, we just don't have the power to run anything else in this office right now.

But let me think about other possibilities, including moving across the hall to the main office, where they have more outlets. I'll talk to our chair and HR person.

Thank you, Adam. If this solves the problem, I will owe you a huge, huge debt.

If not solve, diminish would still be good.

A temp move for health reasons ought to be doable by the your department, I hope.

Even if you can't move:
Running an HEPA air cleaner overnight (while you have your PC unplugged, so as to gain an outlet) would help tremendously.

I already cleared it that if we don't have the power to run the air filter over here, I'm moving across the hall to the other office (where they have more outlets) until we move to the new offices.

Thank you thank you thank you. I'll purchase an air filter this weekend!

Good to hear things are working out - you seemed a bit distressed last night... and the rest of us missed you. :(

and the rest of us missed you

Aw. Thanks, hon. I hope to make it next Thursday!

Here's hoping moving about/air filtration will help with the allergies.

Glad to hear that things have looked up on the personal front.

May your world only improve from here.

Oh dear, that sounds like the beginning of what I have. Emergen-C!!
If this is what comes of allergies, I'm going for the allergy shots next doc visit.
This is miserable, and Claritin seems to do nothing for it.

I've missed you, but you honestly don't want what I've been battling.
Maybe with personal issues getting better, your resistance will return.

Well Duh :). Sounds like you definately have a plan and hopefully a couple of days away from there this weekend will help too. Sleep well!

Having just gotten over an allergy induced sinus infection; I recommend you start taking Mucinex for your lungs. All it does is loosen and liquify the build up in your lungs and has no nasty side effects. It doesn't do any thing for allergies, but does stop the "rattle" and chest congestion.

Hope you feel better soon!
