Well! That was...wet

Holy cow. The river is flooded, people. If you're in a low-lying area of North Lawrence, get stuff off your floors. I hear Burcham Park is closed. Yikes. Thankfully, Lawrence missed all the really nasty weather. Or rather, it missed us.

We didn't miss all the thunderstorms, though, and I don't sleep well when it's raining or storming. Ugh. So, little sleep this weekend, and what I got wasn't exactly quality sleep. Last night I didn't fall asleep until after midnight, and woke up with some morning rumblings at 5:30. At least when I wake up that early, I have time to make (and drink) a pot of coffee before slogging to the office.

I got two dresses done this weekend (almost). I need to go to Sarah's this afternoon to get a 12" red zipper and I can finish the second one. Ah, a new summer wardrobe! Very exciting. I'm plowing through as many projects as possible so as to make the most of [livejournal.com profile] solan_t's serger before she decides she wants it back (crossing in fingers in hopes of at least keeping it one more weekend). You all go encourage her to play more WoW, ok?

This is the last week of classes! Can you believe it? This semester absolutely flew by. I imagine those of you actually involved in coursework (either taking or giving) are happy to see an end in sight, but I'm feeling a bit panicked that I have so much to do before vacation at the end of July--and that's pretty much just around the corner.

Nutty.

Oh, and I just got this from Working Assets. I've used Working Assets for over ten years, first as just a long distance provider, and now for my cell phone and credit card. I've always been very happy with the customer service, and the phones use Sprint lines.

J tried to talk me into going out for a walk during the lull yesterday, but I was too pussy to even get my feet wet.
Our neighbors did have a couple trees split in two, maybe the wind?

Play more Wow... check!

I think you are safe for another weekend. ;) Aydena hit 69 (woo hoo! let the jokes fly!) this weekend, so only one more level before I can really play with the big dogs again.

And the weekend after that I will likely be in Hutch and the weekend after THAT is ConQuest. ;D Looks like you get the serger for at least a month.

AWESOME! You're faboo. Thanks.

Ok, as soon as my horrible contract with evil, Satanic T-Mobile (am SO over them) expires, I will have a closer look at this, meaning I will email you and ask you again what company it was that you posted about today, because by the time my contract expires, I will have forgotten.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-05-07 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, Working Assets will work with you to get out of your current contract. So if you really hate T-Mobile, go check out the website. You might not have to wait until your contract is up, and you can keep your current number.

[identity profile] shrijani.livejournal.com 2007-05-07 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, that would be good, because it will cost $400 for us both to cancel ($200 per line). I'll look into it. Thanks for the tip!

Burcham Park closed, eh? And next weekend is the Pinckney Neighborhood Cleanup, and I'm supposed to be in charge of doing Burcham Park on Sunday. It's supposed to rain more this week. Either all the litter will be washed away, or the river will deposit mucho debris. Oh, my.
