Quick break for picture time

Taking a short break at my desk in lieu of lunch.

Here are the pics of me in the corset that [livejournal.com profile] solan_t helped with over the weekend.

Those who know me in person will be amused by the wearing of the ever-present camo shorts.

My natural waist right now is about 30" and we laced me down to 25". Not bad.

I had fun making it, but I'm not sure if corsets are something I'll make very often. It was a lot more time consuming than faire bodices, and I don't know that I care to build a wardrobe that includes them. Making skirts that hide the inevitable tummy poof that gets squeezed out the bottom of the corset...hm. Dunno.

But you KNOW I think it looks fabulous!

It really does look fabulous! I'm just not sure how often I'll really wear them, so it's difficult to justify making more, ya know?

Red, leopard and camo... my favorite colors.

It's a fabulous job. I want one now. I think I got the wrong pattern tho.. I got the one with the bust adjustments. Damn.

Wow, you do such awesome work. Basing a whole wardrobe around corsets might not be so much fun, but creating a kick-ass outfit 'round this corset would be divine. Have fun. Post a pic of when you dress up and wear this out!! Hot, hot, HOT!

Thank you!

You need a hot red sphagetthi strapped minidress and combat boots to wear with that new corset! I love the print! I am now inspired to finally finish putting the one sitting in pieces together this afternoon.

Damn! Hot! But can you breath?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-05-22 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It's no different than breathing in my whore bodices. Actually, it's a little easier. The waist reduction is considerably more, but there's less constriction around the chest .

[identity profile] kalimeg.livejournal.com 2007-05-28 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Corsets don't usually affect breathing -- after all, we don't own dresses with 17" waists that we have to lace down into. Contemporary corsets are more decor items than foundation garments.

Maybe some are. This one and the bodices I make for faire are most definitely foundation garments that provide quite a bit of support and constriction. But the body adjusts. I know only one person personally who straightlaces down to body-modification measurements. I think she's down to a 20" waist now.

Oh sure. Mine have steel boning, and I could use them for waist training...but I am not into that particular kink. Mine have fabulous support, and sometimes I wear them when my back hurts. They *still* don't interfere with breathing!

what happened to the one you were working on with flames? Oh, maybe you didn't finish it since it was a sloper or whatever you call it.

And, very cool!
