I'm doing the best I can

Those words are usually used in a less than positive context, but right now I'm feeling quite calm and confident.

There are a few things I'm waiting on: Passport, a signature from the Interim Grad School Dean, a fax from the Westin; but I've done all I can on all fronts and now I must sit back, wait, and be content that things will happen.

I've reached a fairly zen state about the passport issue. It will either arrive or it won't. If it does, hurray! If not, I have a week to get the house in order. I'm going to take some vacation days regardless. It's just a matter of if I take them in Italy or not.

When I got home Saturday night, I made up my final wardrobe item for Italy: A pair of batiste-lined linen pants. They're fabulously comfortable, and will be ever-so-much cooler than my black stretch twill capris.

Speaking of wardrobe: the dress I made for the post-Campbell Conference awards room party? Big hit. I'll post a pic soon.

Did you find anything out about your passport when you called?

I've called my congressional rep and asked them to start working on my passport. We'll see if it gets to me in time.
