Whirr!
I've been wanting a new blender for several months now. There was nothing wrong with my old one. It worked well, it was charmingly retro, it just...I just, well...I wanted one...in red. I know! I know. Anyway.
So I adopted my mint green beehive Oster out to a loving home and began the search for a new blender. When we went over to
cedarsong and
everflame's for daiquiris a few weeks ago, I knew I found My True Blender. Even better, it's now available with a food processor attachment! Since I recently surrendered my Cusinart Mini-Prep to full-time Tatsuko mashed food duty, I kinda needed a new food processor, too.

I'm very happy that it arrived today, but it's too heavy to carry home. I'm going to have to come get it tonight when I can park on campus.
I wonder if my organizing will go quicker or slower with Delicious Alcoholic Slushies on tap?

Blender lust
Hijacking your comments--what is that nail stuff you were talking about loving? I took off my acrylics and need to strengthen my poor, weak, flaky nails.
Re: Blender lust
I heard a rumor that Nailtiques was closing up shop (typical luck for me), but NailTek has a similar product, with the same formulations (#2 for peeling, brittle nails, #1 for maintenance).
oooh, pretty blender!
Any coloured fruit might be made even more healthful with the addition of a splash of alcohol, researchers report in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture.
Dr. Korakot Chanjirakul and colleagues at Kasetsart University in Thailand and scientists at the U.S. Department of Agriculture stumbled upon their finding unexpectedly. They were exploring ways to help keep strawberries fresh during storage. Treating the berries with alcohol increased in antioxidant capacity and free radical scavenging activity, they found.

Sangria's out for me, now, so bring on the daiquiris, baby!
