Violently happy
Last night I had a wonderful dinner out with
adammaker. It's been a while since I went to Free State Brewery because it's just so damn loud. But we got there at 5:15 and the restaurant was pretty empty. Which means it was only twice as loud as any other place in town, so it was bearable. And I do love the Brewhouse Chicken Salad. Mmmm. Oh, and I believe they serve La Prima Tazza coffee for their house coffee. Wasn't that a nice surprise for someone who was too chilly to order a beer!
When
mckitterick got home we watched the Flowfit DVD I ordered. I was super impressed.
adammaker gave good advice about just watching it through before trying it. The moves look simple, but they're going to take a lot of concentration to do them with good form and grace. Challenging and exciting! The program is all about working with your own body weight and minimal props/equipment. In fact, at the advanced levels, all you need is a fairly open space and a sticky mat. It's still available for only the cost of manufacturing and shipping (about seven bucks). Go order your copy!
Here's hoping I can do stuff in yoga tonight. I'm doing my best to keep the scabs on my knee and foot from getting hard (go go Green Oil!), but they're still pulling a bit. If we do much Hero Pose (Virasana), I'm gonna have to ask for alternate poses. And Virasana is one of my favorite poses, too. Oh well, the injuries are my own fault for not warming up before doing floor work. Bad dancer. No cookie.
Oh, and in case anybody's wondering, being happy can make you look thinner. I had several people ask me this weekend if I'd lost weight since last year. I'm actually about ten pounds up, thanks. But apparently love and joy make me look slim. Hurray!

I'll be revisiting it later this week.
Your liking of it makes me want to dive back in!
Someday, I'll get smooth at FF1, and then land a copy of FF2:

Can I mail you coffee beans? Lemme know if you need a good source. We've got a couple local roasteries that are pretty damn fine.

I've got some decent beans locally - Seattle's Best Coffee when I can find it, and local roasters -- not horrible -- are my main fix. I also have a friend arriving soon who'll be bringing some local roast from San Francisco.
If you ever end up coming to Osaka, I'll hit you up for a hand-carry, but it's not practical to send in the mail. But you're a Magnificent Human Being for offering.

If I ever come to Osaka, I promise you'll be the first to know.
