Part of my meme yesterday wasn't true
The one where I said I would come to work today? Didn't happen. Woke up with stomach pain and slight nausea. Called in to work. Went back to bed. Woke up at ten freaking thirty. Ten thirty! You all know I don't sleep that late. Craziness.
I'm still not feeling great, so I opted to take the rest of the day off. Am puttering around the house, doing some laundry and taking it easy.
Stomach still isn't 100%. I couldn't even eat half by bowl of grits for lunch.
I thought it was just something I ate yesterday at lunch, but I think now it's some sort of 24-hour bug. Hopefully I'll be over this by tomorrow. If not, The Spanish will be moving a bit slow.

Hey, here's a trivia question... why do they call you "the Spanish" rather than The Spaniard? Is there a particular reason, or is it just Fair speak?

I also think it's perfect for those times when "Azucena" doesn't work. Yelling for balls, for example, teaching people about her... though I've found that Azucena is slipping off my tongue much better than it used to. So lovely.
I often want to tell people who are tripping over my name, "For sweet Christ's sake, I'm blue. BLUE. Just call me that."
(Funny story: about two weekends ago I was interacting with Random Patron Joe. He couldn't say my name. Didn't get it. I told him if I was feeling charitable, I'd respond to "Blue." He said, "I like that! Why even use the other one?" "It's how I tell my future clients from prospectives I'm better off passing along to my less descerning sisters." I think the 3+ syllable words gave him an anurism and he just stood there while I walked away.)

Thanks! I've always wondered about that and forgot to ask.
