I never thought I'd make it

I had serious doubts about making it through the week, but look! Here I am. Amazing.

It occurred to me this morning that I've been stressing myself to find time to de-stress. How ridiculous is that? Ever since faire wrapped up, I've been all "Oh, gotta find some time to relax! Get out the planner! Schedule that down-time!" What the fuck is up with that? Seriously. That's some messed up shit, people. I don't know which is crazier: Feeling like I need to write down relax time in my planner or the fact that I honestly really do need to write down relax time in my planner or it won't happen.

Jeez.

And speaking of things to put in my planner...if I ever get to visit Japan, I want to visit Christon Cafe. Found on Coilhouse. See their (better) photos of it in this blog entry. Coilhouse says it's in Tokyo, but the website says Osaka. Perhaps the website is the Osaka location? In which case, I definitely want to go to the Tokyo one.

Wow. We should GO!

Oh yes. If I go to Japan, you are going to be my translator and constant companion. *clings to you like a lamprey*

This (http://www.theplacebelow.co.uk/) is the church/cafe combo I want to visit. Much more my style.

Look! He has cookbooks (http://www.theplacebelow.co.uk/Bill-P-cookbooks.htm) from the restaurant!

I just looked at the blog pictures, and those have *got* to be different places. They look completely, entirely different. In fact, I was looking at the website link and thinking, "why does Lydia want to go there so much?" Then I went to the blog and thought, "Ooo0oh, I see now!"

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I think they're different places. Unless the front part is the bar, with all the cool stuff, and they stick people who want the restaurant part in the back where it's booooring.

Those niches! Those draped chandeliers! Those lighted crosses! Yum.

Why do I not have a cheezy Catholic Kitch icon to go with this?

I totally hear you on the 'scheduling down time' thing. I do it myself. Then again, even if I tell myself "ok, Erica, you have all day Friday to work on your cosplay for Naka-kon", reality kicks me in the face and tells me to start writing my 24 page paper due on stop day. Sigh.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Scheduling down time is an even trickier thing when you're a student.

Especially when you're in a very active club that eats around 10 hours a week, have 3 hours of choir practice in Independence every Tuesday, are working on a group project with 9 freshman who know nothing, and are trying to make a ridiculously complicated costume, all at the same time! Oh, and I work 20 hours a week too. Maybe I'll skip Thanksgiving dinner this year and take a nap instead... :)

There are multiple locations of Criston Cafe. One is in Osaka, and one is in Tokyo near Shibuya:

Dogenzaka 2-10-7, New Mainstay Building 2 Bldg No. B1, 03-5728-2225

Hope this helps!

*looks around wildly*

Holy Moses! You found me!

Thank you for the address for the Tokyo one--if that's the one pictured on Coilhouse. If I go, I'll write up a report for you all.

You'll pardon me while I step out for a brief fangirl squee.
