Music review and laziness

I wrote a review of David Macejka’s latest CD, Sookh Tan, and posted it to the LJ [livejournal.com profile] bellydancing community. I won't waste space by crossposting, but if you're interested, you may check it out here. It's possibly one of the best Middle Eastern fusion CDs I've ever heard. In short: I Love It. When I see him at KCRF next year, I'm going to buy several copies off him to distribute among friends and family. If you want your copy sooner, it's available from CD Baby.

Last night was lovely, but I was the lamest of lame and forgot to get what I needed at the grocery store. We went to Dillon's and stocked up on Splenda soda (Coke and RC 12-packs, 4/$11!), but did I remember the stuff I was supposed to take to a friend's house tonight? Did I remember to stop at Checker's for $.19/lb bananas? Did I remember, well, anything? No.

If you read [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick's LJ, you've seen that we'll be hosting the SFRA conference this year, in conjunction with the Campbell Conference. Exciting! It's my first opportunity to help organize such a large conference and I'm squee-ing and eeek-ing in equal measures. I'll be looking to [livejournal.com profile] fireguarder and [livejournal.com profile] kalimeg for advice and (possibly) venting.

This morning was a complete bust for exercise. I couldn't bring myself to get out of bed. The snuggle factor, caught between boy and cat, was way too high for me to overcome. I'm going to do some serious walking over my lunch break, and then ab work tonight when I get home from my evening at a friend's house.

And now, I have a jillion things to do at work today. Have a good weekend, everybody.

Ah yes -- the chairman in all but name. I found SFRA pretty nice and easy to work with, so I am sure you will do just fine. If you need a phone number to vent to, e-mail me. Sometimes screaming has to be immediate.

hee, for some reason after reading your walking and exercise paragraph, I read the last sentence as
And now, I have a jiggly thing to do at work

Yes, I'm easily amused.

This July is going to be fun! You want to start getting together for lunch again?

Unfortunately, we have a new lunch schedule at work, and I don't go to lunch until very late. =(

I would love to meet with you regularly, though. Is there any way you could get away from your desk for 30 minutes or so in the afternoon or mid-morning?

Hee. Last time they did this I came back (to your job, which was already my old job) for a couple-three days to run the book sales room for the conference -- it was in the Holidome, and Bill and I packed up a goodly selection of books and sold them there.
