Add it to the plate
You know how you start a post and know exactly what icon you're gonna use?
Yeah.
As was announced earlier this week, the Campbell Conference at KU is going to be held in conjunction with the SFRA conference this year. SFRA, poor things, had to find an alternate location since the original plan was to hold it in Dublin. With the dollar doing so very badly, they were losing scads of money. So they're moving it here. Very exciting! Also a little crazy-making.
A little extra crazy-making because winter is my busiest time at work, and suddenly the major planning for the conference has been moved from early spring to--now. Of course!
I'm discovering that SFRA is chock-full of fabulous people, though. I'm surprised at how quickly people are getting me information. I'm not surprised that
khellekson is on the ball, but I'm used to dealing with, well, academics...who aren't exactly quick-draws when it comes to the responses, you know?
Yesterday was a glorious day of amazingly unseasonable weather. I spent my lunch hour walking down and them back up the hill. Basically I walked home, turned around, and walked back to work. I think I shall do that again today since I either 1. Forgot to set my alarm last night, or 2. Turned it off some time during the night. I woke up at 6:40. Which means I haven't had any exercise yet today. And it's interesting to note, I'm hungry already. Since starting to exercise in the morning, I haven't gotten hungry until 10:00 a.m. or later.
Back to it.
Yeah.

If things continue to progress at this rate, it's all going to be finished by Spring Break and then what in the world will I do with my slow time at work?
Har har.

I'm sure there'll be things.

I work on fan time, of course, not real-person time, so it's all instantaneous! At least that way I'm perceived as responsive, which is important. But thanks for the kind public post.
We'll get this thing figured out!
