Pain pain pain

The pain has moved into the other hip, so now they're even, I guess. I spent most of last night waking up with a bad headache. Or my hips aching. Or to pee.

This is awful.

Oh dear. To me it sounds like a preview of age. That must be very uncomfortable for someone young. When you kind of age into it (minus the headache!) it's only mildly annoying.

That was my thought, too. Not that it's mildly annoying, but rather: "Ah. So this is some sort of sneak preview. Lovely. Can't wait!"

On the flip side, it's *glorious* to be considered young! Whee!!!!

Actually, I got a short reprieve from the pain sstuff. Turned out I had sleep apnea, and when I went to using the air machine, the pains all went away. Then the doctors started assigning me drugs with very painful stuff attached to them. no fun. I hate drugs that make hips hurt. I call up and say "can't take that, nope, nope".

And you *are* young! Sigh. Please do enjoy it for me.

:)

You bet!

Well, being young and all you are not yet used to strategies for making hips feel better. Lots of painkillers. Icy hot or Ben gay. And a heated, vibrating backboard -- that thing has saved me more than once. Getting up able to walk is a really nice thing, y'know?

I used heating pads for a couple hours while I was reading last night and I slept through the night with no wake-ups whatsoever.

This vibrating heated backboard sounds fascinating, though! Why does the vibration help?

I think vibration creates numbness without drugs, and that relief from pain makes it easier for the heat to relax the pained areas. Do you ever fall? One of the things making my hips hurt when younger was trauma from a fall. A chiropractor put the heel of his hand above my hip bone and hit it toward my feet -- and suddenly a persistent pain was gone, and my stride about doubled. I'd fallen and never realized the hip was damaged. Periodically since then I've had to have someone do the same thing (since the chiropractor who knew what to do moved to CA long ago).

Do you ever fall?

Ah ha ha ha ha ha! *wipes tear*

*cough*

Occasionally.
