18 more shopping days
I really need to get on the stick. I don't have much left to purchase, just several items that need to be sewn up or cooked in order to be presented in time for the big day.
I have two very tender areas on my head, just past my temples, where the fake braids dug into my head from me tying my turban too tight last night. Ouch. I know it sounds stupid, but they really hurt!
The performance went ok. I wasn't terribly energetic, mostly due to the fact that I had to wear one of my older bras--back from when I was like a 32B or C. Yeah, stuff these ta-tas in a bra that's two cup sizes too small and it kinda restricts what I'm comfortable doing. For one thing, No Backbends! I couldn't find the new bra I made for the last performance. Grrr. And some friends who said they were coming had only seen me in the Jack Sparrow costume, so I didn't want to wear that again. Of course they didn't show, but oh well. So the Aladdin Cafe got treated to a lot more of my breasts than are normally seen outside of my house. No, no photos, sorry. My makeup looked really killer, though, and the table of arabic folks had lots of nice things to say about my performance. They also said my costume (a ghawazee coat and blouse) was very well done. As radcliffe would say: Bounce!!! Note to self: Stop dancing with other people's swords and get used to *yours* again. Cripes.
I'm ecstatically happy that it's Friday and paycheck day. And my officemate is leaving at noon today so I can turn off the crappy radio music early. Whee! Doesn't get much better than this.
I hope tonight I can get at least one of my xmas presents wound up. I would like to finish off The Ownerless Scarf today, too, even though it's sorta pointless since nobody seems to want it. It's not a perfect scarf (it's my first attempt at doing multiple colors), but it's very soft and yummy. It's just sort of...brown.

Good luck with the christmas shopping. I'm just making everyone hats, since I got no christmas lists. =)
