Better!

I took off work at noon yesterday. Went home and started Phase 1 of the sewing room reorg. I moved everything (except the shelves of course) to the north side of the room and measured the area and cutting mats for desired table areas. My cutting table will be 36x70 and the sewing/craft table will be 24x92. Huge! I've had my cutting table at a slightly-higher-than-standing-waist height (about 44 inches) for a long time and it helps so much with minimizing back strain while cutting and tracing patterns. I have a tendency to hunch when I'm at the sewing machine (so I can get a good sight angle on the fabric feeding into the machine). Since I am someone who knows what he's doing is building these tables from scratch, why not elevate the sewing table as well? So that table will be 33 inches tall.

Even though we drove all over town last night and weren't able to purchase everything so I someone who knows what he's doing could start building Right Away, I'm feeling a lot more up than I was on Monday--which is a good thing since I slept terribly last night and really want nothing more than to stuff food in my face to keep me awake today.

Alas, Today = Fast Day.

Open plea to f-list: If you get Michael's coupons in your newspaper that you don't plan to use, could you please pass them my way? I'd appreciate it. Thanks to the inspiration and fabulous tutelage of [livejournal.com profile] bestill, I've started down a new Crafty Avenue and could use some rubber stamp ink pads. Which are ridiculously expensive at full price. Really. Crazy pricey.

Oop. Time to go run down and up the stairs.

UPDATE: Holy Cow. Found this preview for a fucking awesome film on Coilhouse. Whoa.

"Chocolate" looks great, and is making the blog rounds right now. Oddly, I've yet to see a single Thai martial arts movie yet.

You sound more "up."

Yes! Finally getting some progress on the sewing room has made a huge difference.

I'm doing some collage art stuff. I think I want some permanent-ink high-quality stamp pads, but thank you for the offer!
