I skimmed last year's LJ entries for this time of year and it sounds like I was pretty down last year, too. 2006 wasn't bad, but last year's entries are full of woe and melancholy and bah. Hm.
My G.I. tract is still in revolt (day four and counting!), and that can't be blamed on moodiness or bad food. So I have no idea what's going on there. Well, rather, I have a very good idea of what is going on, but no clue as to why. Bah. And there's no going home early today since one of the secretaries didn't show for work today and nobody knows why.
!
Yesterday the parents' birthday package arrived from Amazon.com. What a wonderful collection! A four-CD set of The Andrews Sisters, a two-CD INXS collection by Rhino (I ::heart:: Rhino Records), Okkervil River's The Stage Names (thanks for the suggestion,
_luaineach), the soundtrack to 300, and a Cheap Trick CD. Oh, and a Looney Tunes DVD. There's variety for ya.
I'm not sure how I feel about my parents purchasing a Cheap Trick CD for me, but whatever. It's a very good CD, despite the fact that there are live recordings on a few songs. I strongly dislike live recordings. Bleh. Audience noise on a CD bugs me.
Finally, as a Public Service Announcement: I would just like to remind everyone that
gamera_spinning is made of awesome. That is all.
Hm. Looking at this photo of me in the icon, I'm forced to (again) ask myself: I'm growing out my hair why? I did this last February, too...started to grow my hair out and was reminded of just how awesome it looks with this style. *ponder*

It does sound like you got quite a wide variety in that gift box!
I hope you feel better.

I have not seen the hair in its current princess di stage, but I still hold that practically anything would look fabulous on you, because it's on you. :)

Thanks for the birthday wishes!
Happy belated birthday
And, yeah, I understand the hair thing; in this weather, especially!
My hair has gotten long enough that it's a chore to brush it out by myself.

And thanks for the birthday wishes. I've decided to have my birthday observed in July since I always feel so gross in January, and the weather is never anything better than mildly shitty. I'll keep you posted on any party plans!

Having seen your hair both long and short? I agree that the "in-between" period must be with the suckage, but on either end, it looks rather lovely.
Also, happy birfday!

It's going to be a long road...
